Really curious to see if miller can keep up his level of play. Would be nice to see some 2-te sets to help with the loss of Wilson. Gives us an element we haven't had in a long time.

I hope Claussen continues to light it up. I'd like to see him throw for 2 more TD's and 150 yards again and no int's to really cement this back up QB job.

gona post what i posted on chicitysport:

Obviously some competency in the run game, forte had a long of 0 last game on -5 yds on 3 carries. Shouldnt be hard to improve on that
-STs bounce back.
-If the first team O and D keep up what they did last game , we are golden despite the run game.
-Number 2 qb battle.
-Number 3 WR debacle.
- Adrian freakin Wilson Would love for him to be an impact guy and maybe steal a starting spot.
-no injuries
-return of guys who are injured ex-C.Williams
-If Jordan Lynch can find a niche. With the 3rd WR debacle maybe he would be suited to play WR. He was a qb so i dont like seeing him take all those hits. Would prefer to keep him cleaner but im a fan of his and really respect his work for NIU.

end post- i said debacle cuz its an inside joke on that board. Josh Morgan could step up as a guy.

The defense is what's piquing my interest at all levels:
1. First time we see Jared Allen out there... how is this going to look?
2. LBs- what young backer if any will step up. Will Shea start looking more fluent out there? Bostic? Greene?
3. Safeties- I have no idea who the starters will end up being from this group. My best guess is Mundy and Conte but it could be Wilson and Vereen for all I know. That position is the wild west right now.
4. Looking forward to seeing Fuller again.

I'd love to see us with a 7-0 lead after the first q. After that, its looking for signs of development and emerging contributors... not the scoreboard.

1.I have to believe it will look great. The defense looked very impressive without him and it was vs a higher touted offense.
2. Spot on. Seems to be an underrated MLB battle on our hands.
3. Pretty exciting competition imo.
4. Sure why not. There has been positive stories on him recently. Not sure if jennings is still nursing the quad so we may get a good look at him.

The number of penalties being called this preseason throughout the league is making the NFL borderline hard to watch. Seriously, what the ****...

Clausen doesnt look like a lock for the number 2 qb job.

Not too many answers tonight. The first string offense looked good when they finally got to their second possession. When the Jaguars are marching on your first string defense... that kind of stings. It's preseason... I know.

I thought Claussen looked very good last night. Very accurate passes, the ball had a lot of zip to it. He was put in a lot of bad situations. His first drive he was moving the ball down the field with ease and then 2 straight offensive line penalties and he is facing 1 and 35. Not much you can do there.

Then he had a 2 minute offense opportunity, but again another offensivle line penalty to set up 1 and 20 I belive. The defense dropped 8 and not much you can do there either.

The interception was from a tipped pass. I read it was probably because his headset went out. He had 5-6 plays without a headset so he' couldn't communicate with the sideline.

I didnt stay up to watch Palmer, but it sounds like he had a good game with 2 TD drives.

My guess is Jimmy is in the lead still but I dont think he hever had it cemented.

Unless a better QB becomes available on the market, Clausen is going to be the backup to Cutler.

For the LB's: I think Bostic looked better in this game. He's catching on and I think he'll be fine eventually this year.

Shea on the other hand, unfortunately still looked lost. If the Bears want to keep him, and groom him into this position, they will have to be very patient through out this entire season. He may not look good till even next year, if he does at all. The problem is, do the Bears have the luxury of playing that game with Shea? The answer is likely no.

With that said, it would be a good idea to see if a vet is available on the waiver wire.

One other guy who has been catching my attention... Sherrick McManus. When you look at the CBs we have and how many we can reasonably carry... someone good is going to get cut and there is nothing we can do about it.
