Comparing stats from the first three weeks is misleading. In our small sample size, we faced three teams that make their bones with the zone read option, by running and stopping the run. Our defense was designed to chase down quarterbacks and throw out confusion coverages... we're finally playing to the strength we attempted to build this offseason. The Packers played two unbelievable defenses (Seattle and the Jets), neither team remotely resemble us on either side of the ball... but they did lose to the Lions in Detroit which I would argue does resemble us.

Why worry if you're the Packers: The OL is lousy this year due to injuries, they are going to miss Raji eventually, the Bears D, like I said, was designed to face an offense like GB's, not one like we have faced the first three weeks of the season so they should be comparably better scheme-wise, and they're playing in Soldier Field where they have won but is still hostile.

Why worry if you're the Bears: Short week to prepare. Who is playing safety? GB is the first team we're facing with very good CBs (I still like our WRs, but hopefully they are closer to 100% this week). GB will be playing desperate to win.

The Bears need to play equally desperate. Exiting this week tied 2-2 with a game remaining at Lambeau is ceding the division lead to a team that closes well down the stretch. Exiting 3-1 to their 1-3 with two division losses is huge. We have to treat them like they are that maniac monster in the horror movies who keeps getting back up after everyone thinks he's dead. Instead of celebrating our successes, we have to stand over them with the shovel to smack 'em in the head again when they try to get back up. Play desperate to win.

Bears should call up Champ Bailey. Apparently he's willing to play the Nickel or safety if that's what it takes to make a roster.

I think he's too slow at this point. He would be better than Frey right now, but I'd like to see what Frey can do over the next couple weeks first.

This game should create momentum for our defensive line. If we can dominate the line of scrimmage we should be able to pull this one out and move forward with a lot of confidence. Sitton and Long are the top rated pass blocking guards in the league right now according to PFF so it'll be interesting to see which of those two has a better game. Hopefully Houston dominates Sitton when he moves inside.

Really hoping Jennings and Fuller can shutdown Cobb and Nelson

It's hard to feel great about this game going in. The Packers just haven't looked like themselves, and considering how things have gone in the series lately, just feels like they'll blow up and we'll look a lot worse offensively then we should.

On offense, it'll come down to running the ball. Cliff Levingston thinks people are making too much of the run/pass ratio but we need to use the run game enough to keep defenses from only looking pass. Cliff Levingston would like to see some counters and some draws to catch teams off guard. If we can get a decent run game going, we should be able to put plenty of points up.

Defensively, the new D line needs to control their O line. It hasn't looked too good early and we need to continue that. We won't shut down the Packers' offense but we need to keep them in the low 20's.

If we can do all that then we should get a win. Who knows when it comes to the Packers though. We always hear about how bad their defense is coming into a game and then they dominate us somehow. Jay does look like in much more control of the offense this year so that's good and our o line has been playing very well on the whole. Hoping for the best.

Bears should take a page out of the jets book and put a safety over the top on Nelson the entire game and take away the big play from him .

The Bears run the ball on 1st down over 60% of the time on first down and do very well but that explains where the run game has gone . However when they run on 1st down its for nearly 5 ypc so if they commit to it then they are successful with it . It could also have a lot to do with the how much jay has been changing plays at the line the first 3 weeks .

Can't ask for a better start than that.

If we only had a running back.

Man, I thought Forte was complete garbage? I don't get how we had the best drive of the season, possibly the best drive under Trestman, even though Forte was the focus. Mind boggling

If we had one, that drive would have been worth two TDs

Why was Bostic on Nelson on that one red zone play?
