Yeah, they would have to essentially go 7-1 in the 2nd half for them to have a shot for the post season. Highly unlikely that happens.
What an incredibly disappointing season.

That's so funny.
Ok heres my rant...
You have to clean house at the top. Emery has sold his soul to a doucbebag Qb and his overrated misfits. First of all, the locker room is divided by Lovie guys(Briggs, Jennings, Tillman, Gould) vs the high paid guys Cutler and Marshall. Lovie' guys formula is proven. Problem is theyre old, slow and on the way out. Cutler and Marshall are supposed to lead us to the promise land but they are paid natural born losers. The mix is bad especially when Trestman isn't having an effect on Cutler or the team.
I once wrote on this forums "We haven't made it to the playoffs since Marshall got here." People rolled their eyes like it was a ridiculous thing to say. BUT ITS TRUE. You need a winning pedigree to be a leader. Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall are not winners. Look at Cutlers body language. That's not an act. What youre looking at is a loser. They are just a couple of stat padders. They know how to be productive and kneel to the gods but they don't know how to win.
We fell for their con game because this franchise has been void of an elite Qb and Wr. How can you put a bunch of losers in charge and expect victory? Mel Tucker is a prime example. Have you seen this guys resume? NO WAY IN HELL this guy shouldve been hired or even interviewed to be in charge of a historic defensive franchise.
Emery, Trestman, Tucker, Joe Decamillis, Cutler, Mundy, Conte, McClellin, Jared Allen, and DEFINETLY LAMARR HOUSTON AAAAAAAAAAAALL GTFO!!!!!! Briggs is done too. Where are the standards in Halas Hall?! Bear Down.

Worst Bears team in a while. A complete rebuild is in order.

The real problem on defense is that there was, for all intents and purposes, no planning for when Urlacher, Briggs and Tillman, among others, retired or faded. They've only started the process now.
Emery may not be at fault for it, but it went down on his watch, and the Cutler contract is going to make it hard to get good free agents to try to patch the holes for the year or two it will take, so he probably has to go. Trestman, being Emery's hire, will probably go, even though I think he's done good with the offense.
Cutler never had a chance with Lovie's rotating offensive coordinators. Trestman probably could have Cutler be a good, but not great QB at this point, but it's too late, and the Bears will need cap space. They need to see what sort of trade they can put together in the offseason.
That said, the defense needs an overhaul. The Bears have had some bad luck - McClellin has flashed stuff, and I think he'll make a decent pass-rush specialist. Sutton and Fuller look good, and Bostic and Christian Jones has shown some potential. Will there be enough? Dunno. Mel Tucker isn't the answer at DC. How would folks feel about bringing in Rex Ryan when the Jets let him go? I think the 46 defense might be the answer. The current scheme is getting lit up.

Bears have to pull a Cubs. Start with a great football mind to replace Phillips, then let him hire his own GM, coach, etc. See if someone is willing to take Cutler's contract and go from there. But what will really happen? Excuses. Phillips and Emery will stay, as will Trestman. Tucker and maybe DeCamillis will take the fall. Nothing will change for another 2 seasons. This is reality. Unless George grows a backbone and is visited by Halas' ghost this Christmas, I don't see much hope for the Bears.

Emery signed Houston and Allen, who have been total flops. So, he can't wash his hands of this defense.

Hire Wade Phillips for the D. That way, when Trestman is fired you have a head coach.

What's blatantly obvious is that this GM and coaching staff can't turn this around. The season is effectively over. This was their golden and final opportunity to save the season and they laid a gigantic egg. No one in the Bears organization can feign hope and not sound bat **** stupid.

Yeah with the Defense as bad as it is a rebuild may be the only way to go. Minus qb the offense is good. Cutler is still manageable IF we have a defense that will carry him- kinda like Grossman. That's just one expensive piece of trash which makes it hard to sign star defensive players and stay under the cap. Thank you Cutler.

My thoughts on this season is its over.
All I want for Christmas next year is at least a playoff appearance. This year all I want is a reporter to ask Cutler "Why should you be the highest paid player in the NFL?"
