Then I look at the scoreboard and realize that the Bulls just put up the lowest scoring game of the season, and seven of those points were a gift. And this in a game where the worst defense in the league actually showed up a little.
It's not the QB.

Actually it is the QB there was a ton of drops but you can clearly see the offense under Jay is not being ran the same way . Clause looks like Mccown back there while with Jay under center its look as though all thats being called is jump balls 35 yards down the field .
Watching this game made think they had no control over Jay whatsoever when he's on the field

Except..the no control claim was that Cutler wouldn't audible OUT of running plays, wasn't it? Why did the Bears suddenly go to a more balanced attack? But it doesn't matter, because their offense still sucked. Their defense played what was likely their best game of the season. they had 2 big special team plays without which they would have scored zero points. And they still lost. And Cutler had passes dropped every game, although I agree there were a couple more than usual today.
It doesn't matter who plays QB. Their offense sucks despite having some of the most highly touted weapons in the league. Period. The coaching staff responsible for this mess, and the team chemistry problems, and the out and out backstabbing and cancer in the locker room, is trying to make Cutler the scapegoat. Unfortunately, they showed again today they simply have no clue what they are doing.

Defense have forced quite a few turnovers this year . The offense looks more balanced because the QB actually went through his reads and threw the ball to the open guy instead of just settling for jump balls into traffic .
Cutler for the last 6 years have over 20 turnover a season and how is he being scapegoated ?
Mccowns play last year was no mirage and Claussen stepped in after having not played in years and the offense still looked better even if the results were not immediately better. EVERYONE can see the difference in terms of what the offense is actually trying to do even if they didnt make every play today.
Stratmaster wrote:Yes, McCown's play was somewhat of a mirage. And Cutler's play last season pre-injury was fine. But it's cool. If you want the Bears to go back to "managing games" on offense, good for you. You just better hope they somehow miraculously start playing like the 84-85 Bears on defense. Because they aren't winning any games because of the offense they put on the field today.

But thats what you dont understand and I can see why you think Cutler Is great but the fact is EVERY great qb in the league today is a game manager . They can all shoot it out on occasion but they understand that to have a chance to win it all they have to be able to manage a game . Jay has not show that ability to do it consistently and so yeah I want someone who can manage a game because you at least will give yourself a chance even if you dont have the 85 bears defense because you surely wont be winning anything with your qb turning the ball over 24 times in 14 games

chitownsports is right.
