It is Bleacher report but Jason Cole is a "real reporter" with sources.

At this point, I think everyone would be completely shocked if Fox was NOT hired.

What % of plays does John Fox call run plays?

One of the best available options, can't be mad at that although I still have some doubts on Fox.

What % of plays does John Fox call run plays?

The huge dirty secret here in Denver is that Peyton Manning practically runs the play calling and that the big disagreement between Fox and his boss Elway was that Fox wanted the offense to be run his way rather than Manning's.

In the Broncos 12 wins this year, they averaged 33.5 passes and 31.5 rushes. In their 5 losses, it was 51 passes and 20 rushes and there was only one time that they were down big early. No one except Bronco staff, coaches and players know exactly what percent of plays called by OC Adam Gase were checked off by Manning but it was pretty high.

As a head coach, it has always been his preference to have a strong defense and a run-first offense. In other words, Bears football, for better or worse.

Nice. I think the Bears have to be like the Cowboys. The more we run the ball, the less interceptions Cutler will throw and the more rested our defense will be. Also, we have a very good running back.

Bears hire John Fox as coach

John Fox is the new coach of the Chicago Bears, agreeing to a four-year deal Friday, sources told ESPN.

Fox becomes Chicago's third head coach since 2012, taking over for Marc Trestman, who was fired Dec. 29, along with general manager Phil Emery, after posting a 13-19 record over two seasons. The Bears have missed the postseason for four consecutive years.

One thing is for sure, he;'ll bring along some great assistants. THere are reports that we are trying to interview Fangio for DC. I read somewhere that a team was interviewing Adam Gase for their OC. Maybe we can get him to be our's. Or maybe Shanahan since, apparently, he might become the 49er's OC.

I like that fact that he's the coach--he's not calling plays on the sidelines--he lets his OC and DC do that. Obviously he has influence of how they want to play and game plan. So lets see who he brings in--he should have an good advantage here with contacts from being in the league for a while. Billick was mentioning something on radio about "coach" coaches who bring in staff to run the details and coordinator coaches who mainly run their system on O or D. McCarthy is the only HC left playing who calls plays from sidelines. Last year it was all non-coordinator coaches in the champ games. Fox being a "coach" coach is not a bad thing.

I don't think conservative defense first football with running (Bears football) is really bad unless you have that top 5ish QB--which we don't and probably wont get anytime soon.

Lets see what the offense looks like and who we get there---the D almost can't but be better.

The names I've seen for DC are Dennis Allen, Mike Smith and Vic Fangio. For OC I've seen Kyle Shanahan and Mularckey. Mike Smith as an option was just speculation. The rest will be interviewed.

So it looks like we got Fangio. In the first round we should take the best player for his system.
