Seems like Long is a cinch to move to tackle now

Post#1 » by JerrySloan » Sat May 2, 2015 9:18 pm

With the Bears taking these two particular OL players, it seems like the Bears really want to try to move Long to RT.

Hroniss Grasu, is a center whom some say can play guard and Tayo Fabuluje, is an OT whom it is said probably SHOULD be moved to guard.

Grasu may be the center of the future but if he doesn't beat out Montgomery as a starter this year - and he probably won't - then getting some work at guard is surely a possibility. If Tayo can drop a few pounds, say to 335, and fit in at RG next to Long at RT, Forte may have a shot at leading the league in rushing.

Well I am thrilled they are building the lines of scrimmage as their first instinct of team-building. They know what they are doing

Keep Long at Guard. Why move a pro bowler to a position of unknown. The Bears have enough unknowns on the line heading into the year. Why create another?

This. If you move long to T it better be LT. Bush rod would be one of best RT in the league.

I'm all for Long staying where he is. However, the man should at least consider it. Tackles get paid a lot more and he could be great at that too.

This would be the year to make the move since there is so much turnover and transition throughout the organization

Yeah, if you're going to do it do it now. But he's such a force at his current position I'm not all that hot to make a change.

Having him inside was huge for us with Suh, Raji, and the Williams guys in our division. Those guys are all gone or done. Detroit doesn't have Suh or Fairly. All the talent in the division is on the outside now. He's good enough to handle the switch. Might as well do it now.
