Big 6' 230 lbs RB. Scouting reports have compared him to Arian Foster and Chris Ivory, biggest issue was his physical running style & getting injured.
Love him if he can stay healthy. Gives our RBBC a real interesting threat and if he hits it's great value in the 5th round

He doesn't really make people miss. He just always seems to find the right hole

I feel like Pace drafted 5 potential starters and maybe one of these DBs can make it 6. Can't complain about that.

I would go 4 potentials. Howard Floyd Bullard Whitehair. Those DBs look like special teamers on the surface. But the Bears secondary is iffy, so maybe.....
I guess you count the linebacker. McClellin started, Hillenmeyer, etc, so you can say that, but IDK, he looks like a roster guy more than a starter. Need to see more

I like the idea of having LB depth and young guys coming up behind the core group of vets we've got. The scouting reports I read on the LB were glowing, they actually compared him to Trevathan. Having a second group just as nearly as good as our starting squad and players capable of playing multiple positions across the front 7 really will give us a dynamic defense.
I feel like we need another passing game weapon. We'll see about White and maybe Marquis Wilson takes a step forward

Another pick that makes a ton of sense. While he doesn't run with many wrinkles, he'll break tackles better than most. Could be effective as a runner in 3rd/4th & short situations and as a lead blocker in some sets. In the new NFL order for RBs where you need 3 guys who can run the ball on your roster, guys like Howard can make a nice living.

Goal line as well. Bears have certainly had trouble with that the past few years.
And even as great as Forte was, that probably was one of his only weaknesses.

The good thing is, we can give this guy light duty this year in order to heal his body. The big thing to get done now for the offense, is find a tight end. Very short to do list going forward. A tight end, a left tackle, and a young quarterback, which can all be conceivable in one off season.

I love this pick. Howard is very highly rated and I love the power running game he brings. I liked the Langford and Carey duo, but adding Howard should give us a great run game this year, and they're all still young so they should only improve from here.

Plus the good thing is that with the group we have, Howard will be a part of a trio, not the sole workhorse. That should help him get his rest and keep him healthy most of the time.
