I think most of the top guys are going to get tagged or resign with their team but that doesn't mean we won't be left with great guys to go after.

Chiefs have Dontari Poe to sign and so they will have to choose because they have already tagged Berry once . The falcons have Keanu and Allen both under 25 years old at safety and they are really good and cheap .I doubt they go after berry simply because the have so many roster spots to fill this offseason .

Its a long shot but if I was gm I would be patiently waiting to see what the Chiefs do and if they slip up and dont have him signed by the first day of free agency I put a offer on table that would make berry the highest paid safety in football.Hes that big of a get imo and would make everyone on the defense better with his leadership and work ethic. Getting Berry also opens up so much flexibility in terms of what we could do in the draft its ridiculous.

Cousins is another chance to capitalize if the opportunity presents itself . There is no guarantee but we are finally in position to have money and picks to take advantage of other organizations front office mistakes .

If we somehow got Berry we could trade back into the middle of the first still get a top young safety to pair with him berry.

We could arguably trade back and end up with an extra 2nd ,3rd ,and 4th rd pick

We offer 2nd this year and next for Jimmy G

we then could take BPA in 2nd rd and use the extra 3rd and 4th to chase potential steals .TE,OT,WR,DB .

so many possibilities

If both those guys hit the market you try and break the bank for them. I'm not sure how much the Chiefs have in cap but I don't think they'd prioritize Poe over Berry

So the Colts hired Chris Ballard to be their new GM.

It will be interesting to see how he does, because it was down to him and Pace as far as who the McCaskey's wanted to hire.

Unrelated but 49ers hired john lynch. Also very interesting. Probably the most interesting part is that they gave him 6 years.

Give me a 4th !!! He's definitely cheaper than Jimmy G or Cousins. It's a low risk move.

Speaking of Garoppolo, from things I've read , it sounds like the browns would be willing to give up their 1st for him depending on how they rank the prospects.

If I were putting together a big board he'd probably be number one and I think he's definitely worth the 3rd. However, when you put it in the context of trading for him I don't think it's the best move (or worst) since proven pro bowlers get traded for less.

Sounds like AJ Bouye is staying in Houston. Allegedly, talks of an extension have already begun and word is the Texans are prepared to franchise him if necessary. Cross this guy off your list.

Sounds like the Texans are going to draft a QB. they could be our second trade partners. (First with the browns to 12 and then wherever the Texans are picking).

Texans are picking 25 in the 1st. Why would we want to trade a #3 for that....? Mabe I'm missing something...?

He's suggesting the trade down game. Trading down with Cleveland from 3 to 12.... then from 12 to where the texans are drafting.

#25 is too late for me, I dont like trading back from 12 to 25.

I'm just asking ..Why do this? How many picks would that yield? And what happened to "taking the best talent available over needs"? If a projected game changer is available at #3 then the rule of thumb is to take him.

I don't think it would happen and it's probably unrealistic to trade that much.

I do think if we get our difference makers in free agency (Campbell, Berry, Gilmore, whoever) then I think it does make sense to stock pile picks in the 2-4 rounds to add talented depth and Pace has done extremely well drafting players in those rounds.

If we trade the 3rd to the browns we get the 12th,33rd,52nd 65th. And if we turn around and trade with the Texans we get the 25th, 2nd and a 4th. That's probably not worth it.

Sooooo the NFLPA will tell free agents not to sign with the bears if the state ends worker comp for athletes over 35.

Also schefter thinks Chiefs and Berry won't even get to the tag. Expects them to pay Berry.
