Bears trade 7th rd pick for chargers WR Dontrelle Inman

Post#1 » by chitownsports4ever » Wed Oct 25, 2017 11:56 pm

https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/bears-trade-for-chargers-wr-dontrelle-inman-report/

Inman, who went undrafted out of Virginia, had seven catches for 120 yards against the Saints last year. Asked how long it takes a receiver to learn plays, Fox said that it “depends on the guy.” If he does not play Sunday, he’ll have the bye week to catch up before the Bears play the Packers. Offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains said it’s “very difficult” to pick up the playbook on the fly, but called him a “smart, savvy player that should be able to provide some leadership in a young room.”

Inman provides the Bears a patch, and at a reasonable price. Wanting to build through the draft, the Bears will generally be hesitant to trade draft picks for short-term solutions.
The Bears have another six days to make any more trades; the league deadline is Oct. 31.

“I’ve heard he’s a good player and I’ll just help him any way we can,” quarterback Mitch Trubisky said. “He’s part of this team and family now. We’re invested in all of our guys and we’re going to get him as ready as we can as well as the other guys. So we’ve just got to continue to get better as a room, get better as a team and help him n any way I can with the playbook, out on the field, staying after routes, just develop that chemistry, develop that timing and I’m looking forward to it.”

Pace keeps putting in work. I like the move Inman had 58 receptions for over 800 yards last season..

Its a conditional pick meaning compensation will be determined by Inman's production. I hope to see another move just like this one.

Perfect timing with the bye week and maybe they expect Wheaton back in 2 weeks. I would think hes probably talking to everyone right now . I would think hes monitoring the Bryant situation and grabs him if he can get him at his price .

Solid move. Hopefully it works out and he becomes a steal.

If Josh Gordon gets reinstated, Bears should give him a shot.

His hearing is tomorrow meaning today you'd have to trade for a who might not play. Risky. Probably not worth moving if you're Cleveland.

Bears are getting calls on Josh Sitton. At 31 years old and his cap number going up from $6M to $8.6M next season I'd at least listen to offers.

In not a fan of Benjamin. Dont like this deal for either team tho because I feel it leaves Carolina leaning too heavily on Samuel and Funch.

It's a weird trade for Carolina, especially since Olsen is still out.

The trade shows what Carolina thought of Benjamin. Ive heard rumors they questioned commitment/work ethic.

Inman was a lateral move....there were good deals being made before the deadline. Philly got a steal with Ajayi. Mitch needs targets esp with Zach down. And when are we going to see this "baby gronk"......

I like this kid quite a bit... should be our #1 for the rest of the season

Gordon is SUCH a talent but he's just a walking disaster. I don't think he's worth the headache.

Too slow for my taste... but we sure could use a legit possession receiver on this roster.

I feel like a 3rd rounder is too high for him. I would have done it for a 4th or 5th.

I think as I look at this roster and the moves Pace has made... he's trying to build New Orleans North.

Brees - Trubisky (our kid is more athletic but less accurate right now)
Ingram - Howard
Sproles - Cohen (granted Sproles isn't there anymore)
Graham - Shaheen (Shaheen is nowhere near ready yet)

At WR I think Pace values speed and quickness in-and-out of cuts. I expect this corps to be overhauled this off-season... although I am a big fan of Meredith and Wright.

Kevin White.... hated him since before we drafted him and before we realized he was made of glass.

If the Browns cut Gordon the Bears are too low in waivers to have a real shot at claiming him.

Did you read that Gordon article where he details how much he drank/smoked before and after games? Pretty insane.

Yeah, read that. Makes me not want him anymore. Doesnt really seem like he was remorseful or learned and pretends like he's a victim.
