If they didn't get those two fluke wins against the Steelers and the Panthers, they could have had the 3rd pick.

Oh well. LB/pass rusher or oline (tackle) might be the right pick at 8.

I think its clear that he's the best secondary player in the draft and possibly the best defender. The thing that stands out to me the most is that his best games came against the best teams.

Against Wyoming (Josh Allen): 1 INT
Against Ohio St: 3 ints
Against Wisconsin: 1 FF 2 INTs 2 TDs

I agree. This is why FA is the most likely route to add weapons. We shouldn't reach on a WR in a weak receiving class. Ridley at 8 doesn't seem warranted.

I don't mind them trading back and getting Ridley if somebody falls in love with one of the QBs or somehow Barkley falls to us.

Its encouraging when you factor in the Bears had the hardest strength of schedule in the league. We didnt get blown out as often as a bad team should have.

I havent checked out his tape yet, but I do recall Pace being in attendance at the Iowa / Wisconsin game were Jackson had a couple int's

Jackson is a special talent at corner. He mirrors his opponents' routes almost perfectly. And then you can tell he used to be a receiver, not only because of how he catches, but because of how well he finishes the route once he sees the ball in the air. Plus an above average tackler. He'd be a steal at 8. So would Chubb. I'll take either one.

Chubb looks like a slightly larger version of Solomon Thomas.

Nwosu looks ridiculously explosive. If he's on the board in the fourth that would be a steal.

As far as receivers go I think Ridley and Sutton are locks to go early-mid first. Out of the rest of the receivers my favorite is Auden Tate. Looks like a slightly bigger and more athletic version of Alshon Jeffery. Didn't put up monster numbers, but his talent looks ridiculous. If he's there in the sound round for us I think we have to take him.

My take on Joshua Jackson: looks like a solid corner. Great ball skills, elite leaping ability, and he's fast. Prototypical size. Didnt see a lot of effort in run support. Great zone coverage instincts. Soft hands. My main concern is the fact he's a one year starter with no production other than this season.

Auden Tate is a solid middle round WR. Have you checked out Jaleel Scott? He is 6'6 215 lbs. Scott's route running leaves a lot to be desired but he's a fluid athlete for his size.

A trade target could be the cardinals. They might be desperate to get a QB if they strike out in free agency

If Cousins leaves, the Redskins too.

Chargers and Bills are the other two teams I could see trading up.

Yesterday was a big day for a lot of the top talent in the draft.

-Roquon Smith absolutely dominated. He made plays all over the field but what stood out to me the most was his coverage.

-Minka Fitzpatrick was avoided a lot but when there was an opportunity to make a play, he did so. He showed a lot of talent in run support.

-DeAndre Baker showed a lot of shut down ability, not just yesterday but also against the sooners. There's a chance he falls to the early second

-Calvin Ridley would have had 3 TDs if the QBs hadn't missed him on two.

I'm on the Mike McGlinchey bandwagon right now. Will be interesting to see where his stock is at come draft day, but I think he's projected to go around 10 so it wouldn't be a reach to take him at 8.

Right now some of these guys will have to be on the board for us:
DE Chubb (probably off the board)
OLB Landry (one great season against weak competition and then injured)
CB Jackson (basically one and done)
WR Ridley (24 years old)
OT Williams (injury concerns)
OT McGlinchey (at best he's the third most talented offensive lineman in the draft)
OG Nelson (he's a guard)

For obvious reasons I didn't include the QBs, Saquon Barkley, or the two safeties that are excellent.

We will have really good options, it just comes down to who is the best option. But those are my guys to watch.

Agree. I like Ridley and think Sutton could be special, but the draft value seems to be on D and there's some very proven WR available. I could see us going for the likes of Robinson, Landry, and/or Watkins in Free Agency and going D in the draft. Obviously how we go to help OL is the wild card.
