I saw the Bears attempted to trade up.
Man I hope Smith proves me wrong. Cant see him having a huge inpact in the run game in our 3-4 set. Awesome in the pass game tho.

Im torn on this pick because once I saw Chubbs pass the Browns was hoping we would try and get something done with Denver to move up.

This is Pace trying to get a plug n play guy because he has to win quickly. Not a fan of little guys in the middle of the defense.

I agree that this is a win now move, but he has upside too and he'll bulk up.

The good news is Smith can improve his strength at the point of attack. I went back and watched some of Trevathan's college tape at Kentucky, both where the same size in college, and Danny had similar issues taking on blocks. Its fixable.

I love the pick. Hard hitting, instinctive linebacker with nice speed to cover tight ends and running backs. Also, this guy is a natural leader with a strong work ethic. It's nice to have a player that is ready to come in and dominate as opposed to a project.
