2020 Off-season Plan

Post#1 » by patryk7754 » Sun Nov 3, 2019 7:50 pm

Bears could have traded Floyd for Trai Turner. Would've been a great return and filled a hole

Turner was traded for a very good LT. Floyd is a crappy OLB. Why do you think we could trade a crappy player for a good player, when they traded that good player for another good player?

Because Turner was performing well. Only knock was he started showing up out of shape at times which is something our new oline coach could get ahead of.

You misunderstood my question. I know Turner is good. Everyone knows Turner is good. He was traded for a good LT.

My question is why would they trade Turner for a poopy pass rusher who cant get sacks?

Bears re-signed Trevathan. Probably to 3 years 24m per reports. That's disappointing. Too much. I wouldve rather kept Kwit.

Bears also tender RRH

Looks like Hooper orefers GB. If he goes i think itll backfire. His stats were misleading. Many ppl think he will be a big disappointment at his next stop.

If Taylor or akers falls to the 2nd round i totally hope they grab him. Swift too. Go best available player.

Here is the mock draft I did at First-Pick.com.

I did a lot of trading down, and got 13 picks.

Simply put: I assume the Bears resign both Trevethan, Clinton-Dix, and Kwitkowsi.

Round 2 Pick 20 (LAR): Brandon Aiyuk, WR, Arizona State
Round 2 Pick 31 (K.C.): Ben Bredeson, OG, Michigan
Round 3 Pick 10 (CLE): Albert Okwuegbunam, TE, Missouri
Round 3 Pick 20 (LAR): Davon Hamilton, DT, Ohio State
Round 4 Pick 9 (CLE): Cam Akers, RB, Florida State
Round 4 Pick 32 (K.C.): Donovan Peoples-Jones, WR, Michigan
Round 4 Pick 41: Lynn Bowden, WR, Kentucky
Round 5 Pick 13: DeMarkus Acy, CB, Missouri
Round 5 Pick 17: Carter Coughlin, DE/OLB, Minnesota
Round 6 Pick 17: Bryce Perkins, QB, Virginia
Round 6 Pick 23 (ARI): Anthony McFarland, RB, Maryland
Round 7 Pick 8 (ARI): Justin Herron, OT, Wake Forest
Round 7 Pick 19: Antoine Brooks, FS/SS, Maryland
https://www.first-pick.com/NFL/Share.aspx?id=1f7ae308-6d04-4561-a168-a076ed3643eb

I get Akers as the change of pace back, allowing Cohen and Patterson to line up to create mismatches,

Peoples-Jones and Bowden will be developed to step in when/if Patterson/Cohen depart.

Still have big needs at CB, S and OG. Hopefully we can address two of these in free agency. That would free up one of the second round picks to take a skill player.
There are still a few good safeties and CB Xavier Rhodes

Is Deon Bush expected to start? He got 1.5 and Haha got 4.

Also, Eric Ebron got 12 while Graham got 16. That's awful. We couldve had ebron and Gurley ($5m) instead of Graham.

This is a gd read

Needs to be adjusted for Floyd and Free agent success rate. This presents a gd case for trading down

I believe we currently have 697k in cap. This is how I’d like to see the rest of the season unfold.

Player(s) restructure contracts to give additional 5 mil in cap
Pace trades second 2nd to get 3rd and 4th

RD 2: Denzel Mims, WR
RD 3: Matt Peart, OT/G
RD 4: Jordan Fuller, S
RD 5: Cam Akers, RB
RD 6: KJ Hamler, WR
RD 6: Kamal Martin, LB
RD 7: Jonah Jackson, G
RD 7: Darrion Daniels, DL

Sign Trumaine Johnson to 1 year 5 mil deal

If Pace and Nagy fail this season they’re most likely fired. Here’s a plan that I think is a little fantastical but still realistic.

Hire Payton Manning as GM
Hire Rex Ryan as HC and he brings in his defensive staff.
Hire Mike LaFleur as OC. He brings Mike McDaniels (49ers Run game coordinator) for the same position
Keep Foles as a bridge QB.
Draft or sign replacement at QB

Or we can just hire manning as gm/HC

Return to Chicago Bears
