According to the Bears website, Shaheen, who was a healthy scratch last week is the starter. The undrafted Ben Braunecker and J.P. Holtz (H-Back) are the backups. I'm confident that this is the weakest TE corps in the league. IMO, it's historically awful, particularly when you consider the importance of the TE in the Reid/Nagy offense.

Yes, cant believe Pace took Shaheen over Kittle.

Well, fans often criticize FOs for being too conservative. The Shaheen pick was an example of "swinging for the fences." Sometimes being conservative isn't so bad.

Good point, and mabe its just me but Pace seems to swing for the fences with higher picks. To me it seems the obvious choice or conventional wisdom is best. I can see not being conservative with the lower picks. Not much to lose.

Update: Bears had their most productive TE game vs the Cowboys by featuring JP Holtz and Jesper Horsted. I'd never heard of either of them when the season started. Trubisky succeeded in making chicken salad from chicken feathers. Despite this one game success, TE has to be a priority this offseason.

Bears sign Darion Clark. A former bball player turned TE. Last played fb in high school. Pace is not going to change. Digging for bones while wiffing on 1st round picks.

Greg Olsen being let go by Carolina. If he can still put on pads and tie his own shoes he would walk in and be the best TE on the Bears roster. It's not complicated

Hmmm he sounds like a guy we should have drafted.
