So it looks like we might get the 6th pick after all for Briggs + 31. I hate it when we trade 2 of our best players just to move up in the draft. That said. We should probably land Landry with this pick. Anybody else would be picked too high or not a need. Landry could be sick in this scheme. I've always wanted a Pola, Dawk, Reed, Taylor, type safety in on this team.

we won't draft brady at 6 even if he's there and we have the pick. Bears are in win now mode.
IF we do make that trade, I'm guessing we already have another deal in place to trade back and pick up more early picks. Bears don't want to pay 6 slot money, if they did, they would have paid that to briggs in the first place.

I don't think the Bears would draft Quinn either, but what if A.Peterson slips?
If the Bears get and keep the #6 I would love the Bears to draft Okoye, the DL would be sick for years to come.
I would prefer a trade down, though and I'm sure Angelo would as well. The Broncos would be the best trade partners.
If Quin does slip, I could definitely see a team wanting to trade up to the #6 to get him and possibly overpaying a bit to do so. I think that at #6 the Bears' options could be wide open and I'd, in most liklihood, be happy either way.

Redskins Rekindle Briggs Talks
Redskins Rekindle Briggs Talks
Washington Post - The Washington Redskins and Chicago Bears have rekindled talks under which the Bears would trade Pro Bowl linebacker Lance Briggs to the Redskins, NFL sources said yesterday.
While a deal was not a certainty, one source with knowledge of the situation said there was a "50-50" chance a trade would be completed before Washington makes its first selection in the NFL draft tomorrow. The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said it was possible the teams also would swap their first-round draft picks, with the Bears receiving Washington's sixth overall selection in return for Chicago's 31st pick.

I agree. But let's think about it for a minute, say the Bears do make the trade for #6. Then say, just for fun, Quinn slips to 6. I think the Bears could trade down with Miami for the 9 and a 3rd rounder (I'm just basing this on the draft point system) and a 6th rounder.
At 9, the Bears could select Levi Brown or do this...
trade the #9 to the Broncos, who want Willis, for the #21, #56, the second of their 3rd rounders.
Briggs = +10 spots in first round, #56, #71, #86, and #169
At 21 I'd select Meachum WR
37 - Grubbs OG
56 - Ben Patrick TE
71 - Quincy Black OLB
86 - Brandon Mebane DT
94 - Antonio Pittman RB or Lorenzo Booker RB
That would be my 1st through 3rd rounds. It'll never happen but like I've said before, a man can dream.

Obviously but not a chance that happens.
His stock has gone nowhere but up, and with teams like Oakland, and Tampa with quarterback problems this past year, theres no way they pass on him if he is available.
Although we might not need Quinn, he is a very good prospect for trade bait.
