Chicago Sun Times reporting we signed undrafted Notre Dame RB Darius Walker. Good Move.

We have:
Benson
Peterson
Wolfe
Walker

I expect either Wolfe or Walker to be cut before the season starts.

I like the depth and potential at RB right now

We could also use Wolfe as a return man full time and make Walker our 3rd string.

We also picked up WR David Ball from New Hampshire who broke Jerry Rice's record for most touchdown receptions in Division I-AA

Good pickup again by us.

Wolfe obviously won't be cut, Walker is fighting for a spot on the practice squad/auditioning for other teams.

Hopefully Walker can fill in for Adrian Peterson's spot on Special Teams =)

At first I was thinking Reggie Ball the QB from Georgia Tech, who is flat out terrible btw.

Darius Walker is a nice pickup, he's not great at anything but he's well-rounded and does everything particularly good. Might be a gem here.

Why? Adrian Peterson is the one that usually makes all the tackles on special teams.

because Peterson can then focus on being the 2nd string RB? I'm actually assuming we're going to run Benson and Peterson like we did Thomas and Benson.

No I think we won't use Peterson that much this year unless we are up big. Who knows...maybe Wolfe/Walker can move up to the #2 slot.

I'm shocked nobody took a flier on Ball in a late round, I know it's 1-AA but I mean ~90 receptions and 18 TDs per year over the past 3 seasons is pretty impressive no matter what. The only complaints about him from Scouts Inc. are that he played at a small school and isn't that fast (ran a 4.65 40), but I mean they make him out to sound like an amazing catcher / route runner ("Ball displays exceptional hands and he is an outstanding route runner"). So I guess there are two practice squad level WRs I want to make the team (Mike Hass whatup)

We signed Justin Rascati (QB) April 30 which means we have a ton of Quarterbacks.

Drew Bennett type player? Great route running with good hands, but decent speed.

I like the fact that we have depth at running back. We like to run the ball and now we have many options to get that done

if we run more 2 TE sets and less fullback, we might go into the year with 1 fb and 4 Rbs. We can keep a fb on the practice squad in case of injury, or use more 2 te sets, in fact, that DT we signed also played FB in goaline possesions at times as well.
