Pretty general statement. Can't blame him for having confidence in him team; maybe it'll fire them up.

The Lions offense has tons of talent. Kitna does a good job getting the ball to the receivers, if the additions of Tatum Bell and George Foster can help out the running game who knows.

Now Mike Furrey is saying judging by on paper the Lions should win 10-12 games.
WTF

I think Furrey and Kitna are forgetting that they don't have the luxury of playing themselves twice like the Packers and Bears. If Detroit, or Minny on that matter, win the division, then I will dive into Lake Michigan during the middle of January.
As far as Im concerned their still just a bunch of cowardly lions with their tail between their legs. "Ah put 'em up, put 'em up, put em' up."

I'm not here to stir up anything, but don't forget the NFC North is by far the weakest division in football. The Bears have lost some crucial pieces if Briggs holds out and cutting of Tank Johnson so their defense could be a little bit of a disappointment this year in comparison to the past 2 seasons. I think Green Bay and Minnesota games will be easy wins for both Detroit and Chicago. If Detroits additions to their offense this offseason work out (Bell, Duckett, Foster, Johnson, etc...) then our offense could be exciting to watch and could score a lot of points on anyone if the OL blocks long enough for Kitna to get the ball down field that is. I still see Chicago winning the divison, but Detroit winning 8 or 9 games might not be out of the question, the biggest concern of the Lions team right now is how will the defense hold up. Will our secondary be able to stop anyone? If they do then we will be a suprise team to a lot of people, if not its another long season for Lions fans.

Detroit is deffinatly improved from last year, and they should win more games this year compared to their last few seasons. But, I doubt they win more then 7 games, which is a pretty big improvement from last year.

the bears have very good depth at DT and OLB. If johnson and briggs are both gone, we will be ok. Don't forget we upgraded the safety postion with AA and brown being back as well. Our third round pick was a good DT last year, but didn't play because of a foot issue. I actaully think our defense will be much better this year.
Not to mention the offense got big weapons added and more experience from last year.
Now, the lions again got better on offense. But.....The QB is the same, and he's getting to the age where he's getting worse, not better.
The OLine is nearly the same.
And on defense, who will cover the wr's? Did I miss the lions improving there secondary? Didn't they trade away a probowler there?

I'll break this down. First, to start I don't think the Bears will have enough of a drop off in performance from their defense to keep them out of the playoffs, but I really think the Saints could be the team to contend with out of the NFC this year.
Second even after adding a target like Olsen at TE, and moving your CB Hester to play split duty at WR, I still don't think Grossman can ever perform at a high enough level, you guys could use any other QB and probably win the Superbowl, but I think Grossman is too prone to making mistakes and it will cost you guys again this year because your defense will be more productive at scoring than your offense is truely capable of. Sorry to say it but its true.
I'll combine the third and fourth points. Yes we do still have the same QB from last year, and we all realize he's aging but I think the most any of us expect out of Kitna is maybe another good 2 years. None of us think he is great, but he can get the job done, looking at most of his mistakes last year, he was trying to force the ball into areas to help us win games when he really had no one to throw to other than Williams. The addition of CJ will help greatly. Also our biggest concern is our secondary and how they will stop any of our opponents with a deep attack. Trading away Bly seems like it would hurt this team, but he didn't want to be here any longer so it benefits the locker room with him gone. Otherwise our defense might not be as bad as everyone thinks if they can stay healthy. Redding was the only player on the DL that played all year, if we can play 1st string players instead of 3rd string the Lions really might turn some heads. Either way though Chicago is still going to be the team to go through this year in the NFC North by the looks of things, but only time will tell.

The addition of CJ will help greatly.
How many WRs do you have to draft before you realize you plan isn't working?
If I had to deal with Millen all year I would put a bullet in my head.
Bears will win this division by default. Calvin Johnson and Adrian Peterson won't turn the division upside down... trust me. If anything, we filled a bigger need with Olsen than either of those did for their respective teams.

well, they have half of that 10 games to win. so, yeah, they're looking like they can get it. however, their D is still poor, yet our offense made them look like a BEARS Defense. sickening.
