Thomas Jones punched Cedric last year

Benson said the punch occurred early in practice on the Wednesday before the Oct. 16 game at Arizona. He said, to his knowledge, Jones wasn't fined. Benson didn't pursue the matter with the coaching staff.

''I was able to sit down in my locker and think back on that situation and feel this guy is so intimidated by me, he cannot hold his composure around me,'' Benson said. ''So I left it alone.''

''I was the only one who came out of camp with a separated shoulder,'' he said. ''I mean, we're talking a separated shoulder, not a bruise. Take what you want from that. I don't think it's hard to figure out.''

Benson's relationship with Jones seems complicated. First, Benson said he wishes Jones all the best and nothing but success with the New York Jets and points out the player got a pretty good deal in the long run. But then he scoffs at Jones saying he's ''10 times the man and 10 times the player.''

I never liked TJ's soft ass running style.

I'm happy he's gone.

Soft ass style or not, Jones still produced as a Bear. I hope Benson is ready, because he needs to be a Touchhdown scorer in order to win over everyone. He sounds like it. Can't wait until they crush in the Chargers game.

I thought Jones was a bad apple and got a big time pass from the press as they made Benson the bad guy for signing a big contract. I think this shows benson's maturity - as much trash as people talked about him, he did run to the press or coaching staff with that crap during the seaon.

Jones is one of the weaker 1,200 yard backs I've ever seen. His O-Line made him in most ways. Any contact, he's down.

That's called having a chip on your shoulder. Not being immature.

The guy flat out disrespected him last year when he punched him in the face. If someone did this to you would you praise them? I don't think so.

Benson is the man.

He was soft as hell. There is no doubt.

The guy would take a dive to avoid contact and it was so frustrating to watch.

Benson is a lil bitch until he proves otherwise on the football field.
First the federal government borrowed money; then gave the money to Bank of America; then I borrowed some of that money from Bank of America and gave it to the federal government; then the federal government gave the money back to Bank of America.

Have you seen him run the ball before?

Agreed.

Getting knocked out of the Super Bowl in the first quarter? Whining in the newspaper about all the big bad bullies on the Bears?? Shut up and focus on your job, then maybe your teamates won't think your such a jerk.

The boy can run but he is most definitely a bitch.

He had a serious MCL injury.. I'm sure Lovie should have ran him out there.

I was going to miss TJ this year, but after reading that I'm not so sure anymore. Teams don't need this kind of **** in the locker room. Just puts everyone on edge.

Its the NFL - every player is every year & every game. Ther are no superstar calls like in the NBA. Thats what I love about football - you gotta earn it

I had a bad feeling about Cedric after he had that emotional breakdown when we drafted him. Hopefully it's just me reading too much into it.

If Ced stays healthy this guy is a beast. TJ was good, but this guy is a killer. TJ had more yards, but Cedric was more efficient at getting TD's.

Rex couldn't stay healthy early on, but then he came back and rocked it, then sucked, then rocked it, repeat lol. However Cedric is running an offense so the adjustment is easier, and we'll see GOOD CED, 1200-1500 yard Ced I predict.

Homer time for Reggie, Bears preseason kicks off Saturday!
