If Briggs leaves next year do Bears get compensation?
Or is that only if they make him the franchise player again - which they say they will not do?

briggs is a great player, but in our system williams wont be that much less of a player
but much much much cheaper
+ okwo
briggs is gone, but i appretiate and respect how he came into camp positively
after the walker deal, i cant imagine there being much at all left----- besides what has been set aside for tommie
i still cant believe we got walker long-term

our defense was amazing b4 him, now its off the charts

Apologies I wasn't thinking straight.. I don't know why/how I forgot about compensation picks.. They usually aren't very good.
And I am with TylerB on this.. Name a better WLB in the NFL right now? I would argue Briggs is just as good if not better. IMO he is the best WLB LB in the NFL.
Are you forgetting the Seattle playoff game? Where the Bears were on there heels and on a 4th n 1 Briggs stuffed Shaun Alexander behind the line of scrimmage? He's good folks, really good.

Man if Briggs leaves we clear off $7 million from our cap AND get Angelo a 3rd-5th round pick? There is the money under the cap the big free agent offensive lineman signing we need next year and another quality drafted defensive player taken in the mid rounds (hopefully drinking my Angelo Kool-aid)
