HOUSTON -- The Bears a running team?

Maybe if you're referring to the type that passes a baton and crosses a finish line.

But a grind-it-out, eat-the-clock, go-up-the-middle team, this is not. Nor should it be based on early impressions of the Bears in their 20-19 victory over the Houston Texans in their exhibition opener Saturday night at Reliant Stadium.

The Bears came to this aerospace hotbed and launched a new offense built around an air attack that threatens to define them in 2007 if they keep it up.....

Blasphemous as it sounds, these Bears find themselves with a speedy roster that allows them to use the pass to set up the run instead of the other, conventional way around.

Opening their minds to that idea will only open the field for Benson. The more Olsen emerges as a downfield threat

lol.. at the title of the thread. I love your optimism, I guess we're both drinking from the same cup.

Although I think LT has something to say about most yards per carry, as does Reggie Bush, I deff think we'll be in the top ten.

Benson, if you haven't noticed already (for the haters), is not just an up and down back.

Hes more of an up... BOOOM... down back. lol.

Just remember it was preseason and it was the Texans. Then again if that was preseason, vanilla style, I can't wait to see the sprinkles, chocolate sauce, and caramel in week 1.

^^ LOL. I guess I didn't really mean #1, but at the top like top 5-6. LT may have more, but as a TEAM with Benson, Peterson & Wolfe I see us gaining yards at a significant clip.

I think it's brilliant, we play the exact same offense as my high school and we're hoping it helps the running game a lot.

We're more likely to be near the top in YPC due to Benson's running style more than anything. He's the kind of guy who takes tackles head on rather than trying to avoid them gaining him that extra yard or two the majority of the time.

It was awesome seeing him plow over the Texans' strong safety when he tried to come up and tackle Benson in the hole.
