Bensons first of many victims this season..

Post#1 » by treyZz » Tue Aug 14, 2007 11:14 pm

In Saturday's first quarter, Cedric Benson took a handoff and burst through a hole opened by the left side of his offensive line. Waiting for him in the hole was strong safety Glenn Earl.

A subtle move by Benson got the former Naperville North star off balance and Benson drove into and through him. The run produced 11 yards and ended Earl's season with a fractured foot.

"I feel bad, man," Benson said. "You never want to see somebody lost for the season."

Better luck next year Earl.

Yeah. Go to:
http://www.nfl.com/videos

Click the "Highlights" tab, click Preseason Week 1, click CHI @ HOU, then click the little thumbnail, and the video should load. The play starts at around :40.

Please. TJ would have juked, shimmied, spun it outside for a gain of 2-3 yards.

Yeah Cliff. Call it the CBBC. Hopefully there will be enough that we can get it stickied with video of each crushing blow.

maybe if there are enough, Madden will pick up on it.

This is bittersweet for me, because Earl went to Notre Dame.

You guys should know my sense of humor from the Bulls board by now.

I don't think TJ would have gotten anything on that play other than a face full of turf. Cedric ran over the guy like he wasn't even there, and Earl is 6-1, 213.

Make it 2. As James Sanders can attest from last season in New England.

Benson is a power back. This won't be the last time he sends someone to the sidelines.
