I rewatched the Bears/Texans game yesterday on NFL network. Beyond the fact that I somehow remembered this guy had 12 sacks as a part time rookie last season, I also remembered that this guy was supposed to now answer questions about stopping the run.

#1 I didn't notice any real problems last season for him on this.
#2 (And this is the big one...the reason for this thread) This freaking stud made 2 of the most impressive plays I've seen from a Bears end in a long time on running plays. Both times, he crosses the field down the line of scrimmage to blow up the running back from behind, moving so fast it was literally frightening through the TV screen.

Other times, He rushed the passer with athleticism and a motor like hes Jevon Kearse. If Tommie Harris is healthy, and again sucks up double teams, and 'Wale has a slight resurgence, There is no way this line can be blocked. None.

No doubt Icness needs to take a look at film from the Texans game and reassess his analysis.
Preferably he should probably just reassess his occupation and save us from further utterances of his garbage.

So he he should base his analysis on one pre season game instead of what he saw last season?

I'm not sure he saw anything last year. I think hes spouting the dreaded conventional wisdom that gets passed around like Thunderbird on the street

What did he see last year with Anderson playing dreadful and always on his heine?
Since Anderson didn't play the run that much last year.

While it's nice to make some big plays running down the RB for losses, I think the real issue will be whether MA can stop the run when they run at him, or whether he'll be bowled over by a pulling guard. I'm hopeful, but plays like that don't really answer how he'll be at the point of attack.

those are fair questions. They won't be answered until they are answered.
The only thing I am pointing out is that I haven't seen evidence that he can't do the job either. I don't get the negative assesment. All I have ever seen are positives in that regard actually. Let me give you Lovies feelings on the matter too:
