Fight for last three roster spots comes down to Thursday

50 spots are probably locked in at this point, which is a good thing because if you have a lot of questions at this point, you probably aren't very good. I think Mike Hass has made the team as I think they'll keep six with Hester not playing Wide Receiver full time and with Bradley's fragility. Corey Graham and Trumaine McBride are probably the fourth and fifth corners.

Who does everybody think will survive?

Ninth D-Lineman
Dan Bazuin vs. Antonio Garay
No way is Bazuin is cut, but the question becomes is he put on the PUP list so Garay can get a reprieve? Idonije and, to a certain extent, Brown can play inside. I think this is actually one of the few battles that will matter in this last game. If Tommie shows he is healthy and Bazuin pulls a Mark Anderson, Bazuin might avoid having to red shirt a year.
Prediction: Sucks to be Bazuin, but I think his lingering injury and Harris' status means that is destined for the PUP list.

Seventh linebacker (assuming Okwo doesn't get shadily PUPed)
Darrell McClover vs Rod Wilson
Two guys fighting for their football lives. Should be exciting. Wilson is the better linebacker, but McClover probably has the edge because he's the superior special teams player.
Prediction: Wilson is cut.

Eighth O-Lineman
LeVoir vs.Reed vs. Beekman vs. Oakley (might keep two, probably just one)
I'm assuming Beekman makes the team as Angelo gives his draft picks every chance and he had a third round grade. If he makes it, Reed and Oakley appear cooked as they would be replication. Levoir might have a slim chance as a tackle even though Metcalf playing there gives the Bears another backup option other than St. Clair, but I think he's still eligible for the practice squad.
Prediction: LeVoir, Reed and Oakley are all cut.

I don't think the sixth receiver (Hass,) fifth cornerback (Graham/McBride) or seventh linebacker (Wilson/McClover) are safe just yet though. I really believe if the right running back becomes available that Angelo will pull the trigger and keep four for the time (plus McKie) being although it's unlikely we would get anybody good with a waiver claim given our record from last year.

Cliff Levingston agrees with your assessments, as boring as it may be to talk about guys who will be at the very bottom of the roster.

However Cliff Levingston disagrees that Angelo would look at adding another RB. Benson will be given every chance to succeed, almost to a fault provided he doesn't get hurt. ICLO, he'll do just fine. His running style isn't pretty and he's not going to break off the big runs, but he's going to get those hard yards more often than not to help our offense get in more 3rd and shorts.

Outside of Benson, Adrian Peterson is a very capable backup and Garrett Wolfe provides a nice change of pace type of back. Unless one of those gets hurt, there's no reason to get another RB.

Out of Oakley, Reed, and LeVoir, who would be eligible for practice squad, because we could sure use a little youth at OL, even if not on the actual 53-man roster.

Beekman is nauturally a center and Garza can do it too with Metcalf ready to back him up at guard. That doesn't really give Oakley any type of advantage over Reed or Levoir.
