What about Leftwich?

Jacks going to Gerard, they've also announced Leftwich will be traded or released. Well its pretty stupid to announce your going to try to trade him and if there are no takes then release him.
Teams will just "wait and see what happenes...". lol.
Is he an option? Realistically here.

he would be a great backup, and could challenge, but no way the bears force a qb problem before what we hope is another superbowl season. Maybe 3 months ago.

It is but isn't stupid. I mean they're going to part ways with him regardless and saying you'll release him if no trades come along may bring a team to offer a 6th or 7th round pick just so they are certain they can land him on their team. I wouldn't be suprised to see Atlanta push for him, only problem I have with him is injury prone.

Umm.. Yeah, I'd like to have him for sure. As an insurance policy if Rex's performance starts to cost the Bears any games...

Uh, I doubt we ever see him in a Bears uniform. This team is notorious for "sticking with their guys". Besides do we really want a guy that couldn't beat out David Garrard?
Truth be known, I'd feel better with Donovan McNabb as our starter but that's an unlikely dream scenario (thanks, Tommie). So, I guess we're stuck with Rex.

Hey, I wouldn't be surprised if D-Mac gets traded out of town IF the Eagles struggle this year 'cause I see the fans loving their draft pick QB Kevin Kolb (but you're right, its a big IF).
