OT: Michigan Out Of Top 25 - Dumb reaction?

Probably a stupid overreaction.
I don't even like Michigan, in fact I pretty much dislike them, but if they deserved even consideration for #5 going in they should probably still be in the Top 25.

They got beaten by a helluva good team which isn't even rated in the Top 25. But maybe should be.

What if Michigan had gotten beaten by Iowa or Northwestern? Neither one of them are in the Top 25. And it's not impossible one of them could have beaten the michiganeers.

If they had what would have probably happened is Michigan would have dropped way down in the Top 25, but not out. And the conqueror, Hawkeyes or NW, would have slipped into the bottom of the rankings.
Which is probably what would be right and fair now.

Why shouldn't Appalachia State be rated? I saw them play and they could beat alot of teams.
Probably Iowa and Northwestern for instance. And Illinois.

You're right they probably could beat a lot of teams in Division 1-A. But I don't think you can rank a Division 1-AA with the Division 1-A teams. Therefore you won't see them ranked in the top 25 in any of the major polls. It is no fluke however that they beat Michigan, that team played with a lot of heart and I give them a lot of credit for believing in themselves coming into the big house and beating a top ranked team on their own turf. Michigan will make their way back into the top 25 soon enough, but no one will forget the fact that they lost to App. State.

If you lose to a 1-AA team at the Big House, fluke or no, you deserve to get booted. Period. Now, they may come together and win the next 10, in which case they definetely would show they belong, but for now, its deserved.

It's the first time 1st time a 1A team ranked in the top 25 has ever lost to a division 1AA team. Bad reaction? Maybe. But it's only the beginning of the season. It's a lot easier to move them out when a lot of teams played extremely well and moved themselves into the top 25(Clemson being one, Georgia Tech, Hawaii ehhh but they're in it) which just made it easier to drop Michigan. Also, look at how the Tennessee lost to a good Cal team affected them(I believe a good 9 spots lost, maybe more) Rankings happen like that.

Mark my words: Michigan will make it back to at least the top 15. At least.

I think so too. A loss to App State and falling out of the top 25 completely can only fire them up to go out and try to destroy their opponents the rest of the season to restore some respect to their team. If Oregon beats up on us I will officially consider the season a disaster, but I'm expecting a much more prepared Michigan team the remainder of the year.

Michigan does not deserve to be in the top 25. Finally, a team that schedules a team that shouldn't even be considered on their schedule, loses. Until they beat a top 25 team they shouldn't even be let back in. But, Michigan will be back in the top 25 sooner rather than later.

ps-I hate Michigan!!

App state is not a good team...they would be lucky to win 3 games if they played a normal big 10 schedule...Michigan should be embarrassed and should have fallen out of the top 25.
