Michael Okwo out for the season

Post#1 » by emperorjones » Wed Sep 5, 2007 4:08 pm

Didn't see this posted.

Heard it on the radio this morning. Sholder injury from the last PS game. Placed on IR for the year. :nonono:

So essentially we are redshirting our 2nd and one of our 3rd round picks. Maybe this can work out like it seems it has for Dusty.

Yep. Bazuin has left the building. Knee injury they say. And we cut our 7th rounder. I personally think Angelo is being a little Kruase like here. Getting a few extra players on the roster by claiming injuries and developing those players. Could be a nice way of stockpiling athletes.

I didnt see Okwo get injured during the game.

Hear anything about how OG Josh Beekman (4th round pick) looked during preseason? He's massive at 6'2" 321 and a future anchor on the O-line I'm hoping.

Well it won't hurt us now in the case of Okwo and Bazuin. Both of those seemed to be insurance picks anyway, that being Bazuin for Alex Brown and Okwo for Briggs. Neither would've been a primary backup this season so it's not a big deal that they're on IR.

Nope, but Cliff Levingston was hoping he could be a good, long-term O lineman for us as well.

I like Beekman, he can play either guard(or was it tackle..) position(which I believe he currently backs up both) and even play center.
