The Mike Brown Appreciation Thread

Post#1 » by Posey H8er » Mon Sep 10, 2007 1:47 am

As everyone knows, Mike Brown got injured again today with a knee sprain. I saw the post game interview, and he was fighting away tears, which was very emotional for me to watch. Hopefully it is not as serious as he thinks it is.

If this was his last day as a Bear, here are some good memories-
11/04/01 - Chicago Bears 27, Cleveland Browns 21 (OT)
10/28/01 - Chicago Bears 37, San Francisco 49ers 31 (OT)
10/16/06 - Chicago Bears 24, Arizona Cardinals 23 - WBBM Audio

Please, oh please please don't be serious. I don't want to think about it if it is.

Please be a minor injury. If it isn't, please get back soon.

Mike Brown has battled injuries for years now and things never turn out good.
I hope this isn't serious but it probably is.

He is 29 right now and if it's season ending, he will be pretty old. But John Lynch is 35 and still looks pretty strong. Hopefully he makes a full recovery and it is not as bad as we think it might be.

Sorry to hear about Brown. Unless the guy is a complete ass, I never like to hear about serious injuries, even to a bitter rival. Hope he makes a complete recovery.

I love Mike Brown. If it is serious and he's done for the season, I'm sure this will have been the last we have seen him in a Bear's uniform, if not the NFL.

MB may just be expecting the worst, given his history. He's got all the heart in the world but the body just can't seem to keep up its end of the deal. too bad.

Hopefully MB is not seriously injured and will be back in no time... If he is though... his teammates need to pick him up like last year and should be able to with much better depth all around, especially on defense including the safety position

Posey H8ter, those are great games where he just took over and got us the W's. Don't forget Opening Day 2002 down at the University of Illinois, when he had that INT return to seal the win against our hated rival Vikings!

He's amazing, and I hope he comes back. If not, you'll see him as a head coach in the NFL, he's got to be the smartest player I've ever seen.

In 2000 we struck GOLD with Urlacher and Brown in the same draft! They helped turn this team around, brought our Defense back to the Bear Standard of feared dominance.

Shouldn't this post be called the 'Mike Brown DEPRECIATION thread'? As in, this guy's value to the team depreciates every season?

Don't get me wrong, I love the guy when he is healthy, but it is getting to the point where he's just becoming a distraction. He gets everyone's hopes up, entrenches himself as an integral part of the defense, and then he gets injured. That just ends up deflating the morale of the defense and leaves a big roster hole. I'm guessing that if he is done for the season, he's done with the Bears.

However, I do appreciate everything he's done for us, while healthy. He's given us a lot of highlights over the years.
