Name the worst starting QB in the NFL

Post#1 » by Bulls69 » Tue Sep 11, 2007 10:56 pm

Well since the Browns wised up and traded Charlie Frye I would to say Rexy is the worst the man been in the NFL 5 yrs but still plays like a rookie. When is Lovie going to wise up and realizes Rex is not the QB who is going to lead the Bears to a Superbowl victory this guy has not learn crap from last year.

The only thing that set at part Harrington and Grossman is the Bears D I agree Harrington sucks big time but Rexy is no Brady.

I thought Channing Fyre and whoever that Oakland QB was pretty bad but it doesn't seem to be the case anymore since JaMacrus(not right now, but eventually) and Brady should be starting this season.

You don't have to be Brady to be way better then Harrington.

Tarvaris Jackson, Damon Huard, Derek Anderson until they start Brady Quinn, and Jason Cambell (for now, I've got high hopes for this kid though) just to name a few more.

Right when Grossman has a good game the general opinion of him will shift... again... and again..

I never been a fan of Grossman the man been in the NFL for how many years and still makes rookie mistakes I'm so tired of his inconsisting play one game and one game bad. CBS, no one in the Bears org. wants to take the Bull by the horn and bench this bum who is only to break the Bears fans heart in the end.

If we're talking about the past QBs, Leaf wins hands down. Currently, there are too many to name but I wouldn't lump Grossman in there just yet. We could have a lot worse people.

I'll definitely admit I'm not a Grossman fan either, but I'm not ready to throw him under the bus just after the first game of this season. Once we hit a 5 game winning streak, his critics will be reveling in joy at the team's success. If anyone is really to blame its the Bears Management, unlike some of the poster putting it on Lovie Smith. They are in love with him! Lovie is just the coach, he knows he can here today and gone tomorrow, and yet if the McCaskey/Angelo brass are in love with Rex, he'll be here. My only suggestion to Bears fans all around, if Rex is the reason we're totally effed this year, and losing, then don't go to the games or buy tix, paraphernalia, etc. Take a stand, and show them you're displeasure! Something I don't understand how we Cubs fans still go to the games/etc, enough is enough, this is the 2nd City in America g-damnit!

I was watching channel 9 this morning and during their sports report they mentioned that a couple San Diego defensive players were quoted as saying a few things:

1. Rivera told them that Grossman was a quote: "mental midget" and that they could get to him easily.

2. They were all under the mindset that Benson was weak mentally as well and they could easily psych him out.

Not good things to hear. But as it pertains to Grossman, that's coming straight from a former insider. It just confirms what most of us fans have witnessed for the past two seasons.

As far as him being *the* worst, he's probably in the Top 3 worst QB's in this league, easy.

Yeah, I heard about this during Waddle & Silvy on AM 1000

I think Rex is tougher than people realize...I mean, some QBs to throw the # of INTs he has by now, would just end up throwing more in-completions by now, but he still has that gun slinger mentality to hit the long pass (rare TD passes, followed by 2 or 3 INTs after that).

Just the fact that most of you lack the intellegence to recognize that a team does not make it to the super bowl with the worst qb in the league is beyond me. You can talk about Rex all you want but it doesnt change the fact that there are guys out there that are worse and have historically performed worse. You'd take Eli Manning over Rex??? Damon Huard??? How is the qb situation in Atlanta? Jacksonville???? And thats just to name a few.

Im not saying Rex is a top teir qb, but he isnt as bad as people make him out to be. And that mess as far as Rivera was just sour grapes because the Bears cut him lose for not being able to effectively use what was considered as one of the best defenses in the league. So I would have to question who was the real "mental midget".

Eh, I'm about game to put Rex under the bus. 1 TD, 3 INTs (one of which is forgivable). QB rating 55.7. Career QB rating is over 71. If he stinks it up vs. the dallas cow-polks, I'm game for him sitting unless the other two QBs sitting do even worse (i'd highly doubt it).

Betta, I hope you not consigning for Rex I'm a life long Bears fans we have QB who been in the NFL four plus years who still does rookie mistakes. I think Rex is not a very QB our D and special team got the Bears to the Superbowl or you lack the intellegence to recongnize that.

if you guys watch the super bowl... any real fan would say that the Bears overall sucked. sure we started off great but it was downhill after that from everyone. People use rex as a scapegoat for the loss of the superbowl and i dont really understand why

Because while we had a chance to come back, he threw 2 picks, one of which was returned for a TD.

what about the stupid lil dump passes that manning would throw that would be only a 2 yard compeletion but instead we played a prevent D and missed a lot of tackles causing them to waste the clock. dont you think that the colts knew we had to pass in order to come back and win it? so the chance of throwing a pick is high. we beat ourselves in the super bowl.... defense played horrible and so did the offense,
