THE OFFICIAL: SIGN MICHAEL VICK THREAD

Post#1 » by treyZz » Tue Sep 25, 2007 3:45 am

Would anyone be against this? I think he would be a great fit for the offense personally..

Thoughts?

If we released Tank Johnson for speeding there is no way in hell Angelo takes a shot at Vick.

I don't think Angelo is a dog lover. I could see it happening.

Maybe the Bears should sign Jacque Jones. He is probably a better QB than Grossman. He would be good at spiking the ball when we need the clock to stop.

I would stop watching Bears games. Hate the player, hate the person.

If there is one player less accurate then Grossman, its Vick. I want to watch a QB complete a pass.

I don't think it's necessairly accuracy with Grossman....it's more of he has a tendency to pass to the other team.

Vick>Grossman

Notwithstanding all his dog-fighting issues and his unconventional running QB style of game, these Bears could win the Super Bowl with Vick.
(and without all the rash of injuries they're having, if anymore of them become season ending or even substantial games out.)

Which is just another simple example of why its ridiculous for Grossman to play another down for the Bears. Get him out!

Are you talking to me?

What?

The Bears could win with Michael Vick playing QB.
They could also win with Vince Young playing QB.

They have no chance of winning with Grossman playing QB.
that's what.

Surprisingly, I'm game for signing him. We can't wait forever for our current "core" QBs to develop let alone a draft pick. Our D will be getting old pretty fast. Gosh, our O-Line looks like it aged an extra 4 yrs since the end of last season. Why not have a guy who can scramble out of there, and give us "rushing" yards, since we're unsure of Benson thus far? Gotta try something, I mean it has been over 20 yrs since the last Super Bowl! I'm not saying Vick will get us to a SB (let alone win one), but darnit, the way we're going, I doubt we can get to another one in the next 5 years.

If he does a short period and is in shape. Not many people would have been against trading Rex straight up for Vick pre-dog -except me :)

Did I miss some news here?

Isn't Vick expected to get at least 1 year in jail and then he's still indefinitely suspended after that? As far as I know there is absolutely zero chance that he could help us this year. If he plays again in the NFL it may not be for 3 years at which point who knows what we'll have at QB or how good he'll be after 3 years out of the league and his athleticism dipping due to age.

Well if we sign him when he is released by the Falcons - Angelo & some of his new teammates can visit him in prison.

3 years from now we will still probably be looking for a QB.

Please don't start this.

Vick will never play in the NFL again.

PETA will never allow it, if nothing else. And believe me, they will sing till the crystal breaks.

Also, bear in mind that Vick is not a good QB. We would not win the superbowl necessarily. Vick is strong armed but unaccurate. He is fast and quick and elusive but he will be less of all of these things after his jail time. And his county prosecutors have just declared they will indict him. This could add. . .40 years of jail time!

Believe me. . .drop this. It won't happen. You're wasting your time thinking and talking about it. I won't write on this thread again as I hate Vick and don't want to start a whole other Vick thread in this thread.

He's done and finished.

And that's a very very very good thing.

Unless he's in jail until he's just too old, I'd be surprised if Vick is done with the NFL.

I think guys who've done worse have gotten second chances.

I decided to change my decision on Vick. He'll have issues passing the drug testing. So its best to pass (something he also doesn't do well, according to his critics).
