Favorite Cubs Moment from the last decade

Post#1 » by SportsWorld » Sat Jun 9, 2007 5:48 am

From 1997-2007.

My favorite moment was this game in August 2001 against the Colorado Rockies.
It was one of the craziest games I had ever seen.
If you remember in the 7th inning I think it was Mike McMahon who sang the 7th inning stretch and he was yelling at the umpires on the PA and they ejected him.
In the 9th inning this crazy play happened:

Craziest and Wildest play I have ever seen.

I remember that game it was awesome. Angel Hernandez was calling a bad game that night.

I remember in 1998 When Orlando Merced hit a walk-off home run for us late in the year and I jumped up and hit my head on my ceiling. lol

That HR by Merced sticks out in my mind.

The whole '98 season was a great season.

I remember Prior's first major league start and Woody's 20 K game like it was yesterday.

Prior's first major league start was against the Pirates I think.
I remember how everyone hyped it up.

I don't remember Wood's 20 K game to tell you the truth.

I was at that Rockies game, it was amazing. If angel hernandez called the cubs player out at the plate, i think some fans would run onto the field and kill the ump

The 2003 season up until... well, you know. That moment.

But if I have to narrow it down... when the Cubs beat the Braves and were celebrating in Atlanta with the Cubs fans in the stands.

It felt like something special was happening.

Unfortunately it was something special for the Marlins.

Kerry Wood's 20Ks, Sammy & Maguire's HR chase, and making the playoffs in '98 and '03, particularly in '98 when MJ, PIP came to Wrigley on separate occasions.

Even though we lost, when Sammy hit that HR to tie the game against the Marlins in the 9th I went crazy. I also remember Sammy and Moises going back to back to tie and win it, where I screamed my lungs out.

I remember that game where sammy and moises hit the back-to-back hrs to win it. i think dusty got thrown out earlier that game?!?!? also, does anyone remember when the cubs beat the braves in game 5, a cubs fan ran out onto the field, gave kenny lofton a high five, and then got pummelled by like 5 security guys, lofton and the other OFers were laughing hysterically.

I'd say my favourite Brewers memory, but like everyone else outside Wisconsin, I can't remember a single thing the Brewers have done in my lifetime. Oh well.

I wish I was older. I still get carded in bars since I look so young. I hate it.

Another favorite moment of mine has to be the Farnsworth takedown against the Reds a few years ago.
