Vick Or Mcnabb???

Post#1 » by Chi » Tue Oct 2, 2007 4:55 pm

If for some miraculous reason we had an opportunity next offseason to have our choice of Free Agents between Donavan Mcnabb or Mike Vick...

WHo would you choose and why???

Lets look at the ups and downs of both players...

Mcnabb +'s = Better passer, more playoff experience, Great leader, (No convictions, Lol)

Mcnabb -'s = Older, less durable, Not much of a runner anymore

Vick +'s = Younger, Fresh legs, cannon for an arm, Will lead the team for years to come...

Vick's -'s = A year removed (hypothetical), less accurate, Media dog fighting distractions...

If you've got anything else to add then by all means...

But all that being said who would you sign if we had our choice next offseason...

To me I have a hard time deciding...

I want to say mcnabb but he's older and less durable... So I think I may go with Vick...

YOur thoughts???

McNabb, he has the better arm.

Between QBs Vick or McNabb I'm taking McNabb. I'd love to have the hometown boy playing for the Bears.

Now if I had to choose between two weed smoking criminals, I'd probably pick Rickey Williams over Vick.

As of right now I wouldn't mind seeing Rickey Williams in our backfield splitting time with Benson. Both Texas guys, maybe one guy can be the inspiration for the other.

I just wouldn't know which one would be the role model.

For sure McNABB here too! I've seen him play in PHILLY since day one, one of the classiest guys in the league. I'm game for D-Mac and Da Bears to have one more shot at SB victory!

I see what you mean too. The way CB is right now, I guess it can't hut to have another clone of him back there except I think RW can run a bit better than CB, just my opinion (at least from the RW before his mary J addiction became really public).

Well since Michael Vick will probably be in jail, suspended, cause a public relations nightmare that would distract the team for his duration here, and hasn't shown that he can actually pass the ball...

I'm going to go with McNabb.

This type of choice reminds me of..

Vinny Gambini: I understand you played a game of pool with Lisa for $200, which she won. I'm here to collect.
J.T.: How 'bout if I just kick your ass?
Vinny Gambini: Oh, a counter-offer. That's what we lawyers - I'm a lawyer - we lawyers call that a counter-offer. This is a tough decision here. Get my ass kicked or collect $200. Let me think... I could use a good ass-kickin', I'll be very honest with you... nah, I think I'll just go with the two hundred.
J.T.: Over my dead body.
Vinny Gambini: You like to renegotiate as you go along, don't you? Well here's my counter-offer... do I have to kill you? What if I were just to kick the ever loving **** out of you?
J.T.: In your dreams.
Vinny Gambini: Oh no no... in reality. If I was to kick the **** out of you, do I get the money?

McNabb by far, even if Vick was free to play next season, which he won't be.

McNabb has looked pretty bad this season except for the game against Detroit, but he has bad WRs and a bad offensive line.

I'd definitely emphasize the bad WR corps, but more importantly the O-Line. For a guy returning to play in less than 10 months from an ACL repair, he looks good to me, considering the situation. The Eagles are highly dependant on Donovan and Brian Westbrook (who missed the game vs. the NY Giants), offensively speaking. The Defense is average, with some key players out. I was listening to some fan reactions here in Philly, and outside of the offensive line, they're mad at the coaching staff, and a few knuckle heads are stating they want another QB playing (i.e. AJ Feeley [their Brian Griese] or Kevin Kolb [some idiot fans think he's the next Favre, LOL!]). IMO, losing D-Mac would cripple their team for years, I highly doubt they'd lose him, unless he doesn't resign when he's a FA. If the Bears try to go for McNabb, we'll have to lose someone high profile in return. I wouldn't mind parting with Briggs, suggested by our fellow chicagoan posters. Alas, I doubt that goes down either. But its ok to dream what our team would be like with a prolific QB at the helm! Perhaps we can steal Romo away, if the McCaskey & Angelo team open up the bank!

I wouldn't mind giving up Briggs for McNabb and breaking the bank and/or giving up Briggs for Romo.

I just don't see Dallas parting with Romo and Romo parting with Dallas, though.

I second this.

The luck of this franchise is in the Linebacker position and if we could get a proven QB I would sacrifice one of our LB, ...NO!, not that one.

McNabb all the way. He's struggling a little right now because he's coming back from a serious injury and his mobility isn't all there yet. He won't be a runner like in his old days but he's savvy in the pocket and can make all the throws.

Mcnabb is hurt to often and with our offensive line getting slower by the year we need someone who can get away. That would be Vick. After he puts in his time and does the commercial for peta, makes his donations to the various animal charities, it would make a great second start for him. If we had a better O-Line and receivers who could hold onto the ball, I would opt for McNabb but in our current state I think Vick would help more.

Hmm do we want a good QB or a mediocre QB who would be a PR nightmare and hard to root for in general....tough choice

Our O-Line sucks so lets go for the less talented QB because he runs better? Yea, all I want is Vick or some other mobile QB running for his life because our line sucks.

Can't we fix the line?

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Why is this thread still up?

Its like asking..

Who do you want as our QB, Peyton Manning or Al Capone? Neither option is feasable.

McNabb, since he won't be in prison

Silly me - I didn't realize it was McNabb and offensive line or Vic, of course I would go improving in six positions versus one. It is much better having the guy coming off of surgey running for life the one with speed who can actually pick up yards and has even been known to complete a pass or two.

McNabb will be here more than you know it. Why? If the Eagles fail to make the playoffs, he'll want out, esp. w./ the way the Philly fans still longing for Jeff Garcia.
