What to do for the rest of the season?

Post#1 » by CBS7 » Fri Dec 7, 2007 4:51 am

If Grossman can play, play him to see if he can continue his good play, but only if there is no risk at all. If he can't, start Griese just for the hell of it since we aren't mathematically eliminated yet, then start Orton the final two games.

Sit Harris the rest of the season. He clearly is severely hobbled by the injury.
Don't play Vasher. He's missed 10 games now, no point in him playing in 3 pointless games.
Play Hester at WR more to help incorporate him into the offense more.
Play the young OL guy we have, forgot his name. Why not?
Play Wolfe a bit more, in the same way we used him in the offense today.

In short, just see what we have on the roster that we might be able to use in the future.

Anything else?

Open up the offensive playbook more, experiment with things that, yuo know, most teams already have worked into their systems.

Whats the point, most of us hope Ron Turner will be far, far away from the Bears' organization by then.

We tank.. and we tank hard.

Orton better be ready to suck next week.

Harris gets shut down.
I'd shut down Urlacher as well.

Beekman may be too small to play guard, so unless we're sitting Kreutz he won't be playing.

Looking at our final three opponents, that shouldn't be too hard.

Now I think we have to draft a quarterback in the top 10. I'm guessing we pick 7th when all is said & done. i don't see another win this season.

As for what to do? CBS nailed it.

We play our non-starters now. Lets see how good our "depth" is. Our Team needs to be served some humble pie right now, and I think that'll bring 'em back to form for next year.

I agree. Sit all our injured starters if possible. Bring up our OL's from the practice squad and give them reps. Make Orton the starter. The worst that can happen is that he sucks it up and we have to play Griese. Make more plays for Hester, Olsen, and Wolfe so they can get some more game experience.

I don't think having Pride (as Griese alluded to in his interview) means you have to play all your starters and try to win out. It just means you don't purposefully tank the rest of the season.
