Wow, I thought I was the only fool on these boards who is still hoping to make it to the postseason. I welcome you to the BEARS + Postseason club!

Higher pick. Even if we make the post season, we would be the last seed and almost certainly get beat in the first round.
Might as well tank, re-load via the draft and take a shot next year.

If 8-8 would guarantee us a playoff shot, I'd be against tanking. But since there is no guarantee even if we do end up 8-8, I'd rather us lose the last 3 games. It would suck for us to end up 7-9 or 8-8 and miss the playoffs.
We've got 5 wins, 4 teams have 6 wins, and the current wildcard spot holder Vikings have 7 wins. 5 teams ahead of us for the last spot.
I really think this team could bounce back in a huge way if they are healthy and make a few good additions next year, winning 10-12 games pending the strength of the schedule.

I'm all for plan c, rest our injured players and return them at full force next year. They are obviously tired and injured so I would just shut them down, namely Tommie Harris Brian Urlacher, Nathan Vasher. If it means we get a higher draft pick, neat. if it means we still make the playoffs, sweet. But I don't want them really injured or so.

With the way this team has played, all the teams bunched up in the Wild Card hunt, and the teams the Bears have lost to this season, it's almost impossible to think the playoffs are a legitimate result.
Draft Picks

The Bears haven't given me 1 single reason to believe they can finish the season 8-8. So instead of getting my hopes up for the playoffs I'm just going to sit back and try to enjoy the rest of the games. I honestly think the Bears have a pretty good chance at losing-out.
I would prefer the "plan C" NoSkyy was talking about.

I don't want to root for the Bears to lose, but I would hate it if the went 2-1 in their last three games, moving us down the draft board.
I will also just sit back, enjoy the games, and if they lose one, then I will hope the lose them all

if the bears won back to back once this season i'd have a little hope that we could win out our last 3. They haven't however, and 8-8 probably wouldn't get it done anyway. However, i don't believe in tanking..u can rest guys if they're hurt now and not push them but don't tank. for one..its bad karma and 2..i think getting that winning attitude is as important as draft position. I don't think its at all a fluke that packers won their last 4 games last year and then came out this year like gangbusters.

Higher draft pick. It is stupid win the rest of our games because we aren't going to make the playoffs and we ruin our draft position.

Cliff Levingston is hoping for absolute murder of the Bears by the Minnesota D and Chester Taylor (need 26 points collectively to win fantasy this week).
It would also help secure a higher pick with which to grab an offensive lineman, safety or other good player.

I won in fantasy, thanks to Tom Brady sucking. The team I was playing had the highest scoring team in the league thanks to Brady. He sucked yesterday, but so did the rest of my opponent's team.
I'm up 30 and I still have the good Adrian Peterson and our defense playing.

Cliff Levingston was also going against Brady with his franchise player, Tony Romo.

IlliniNRG was also going against Brady...with Derek Anderson.
Still won, though. Choker vs. Choker, and my team choked slightly less.
I think the Bears should rest Harris and the gang, and play the kids. Maybe they can figure out who is worth keeping around next year.
The players that play, though - I want them to play their asses off. Tanking is not Bears football. If it looks to the players and fans like the Bears really are losing these games on purpose, it will do far more damage to the franchise than losing 4-5 draft spots.
Look at past drafts. Your draft position matters somewhat, but there are no guarantees whatsoever that you'll get a better player.
I would be totally ok with the Bears winning out and missing the playoffs. They'd go into next year with some momentum and with some hope.
