Official Hindsight Thread: What would you do different?

Knowing all we know now, what are the top 3 things you would you do different at the end of last season to avoid this years mess. Things that were actual possibilities or were on the table at the time (i.e we were not going to fire our OC after getting to the Superbowl)

My List:

1. Trade Lance Briggs to the Redskins for their pick (#6 I think?) Take the best available player.

2. Don't sign AA. Take his money and shore up at least one spot on the Offensive Line. That stops us from trading Chris Harris - who then moves into the starting lineup when Brown Goes down.

3. Don't yank Rex. Let it ride out and let him work out the kinks. The switch did nothing for the team and most likely cost us wins.

1. Briggs to Washington for #6. Probably still should have drafter Landry there, avoiding the AA signing altogether.

2. Not sure how the Bears would have gone about this, but not rely on Mike Brown for another season. I love the guy, but good God, he cannot be the anchor of the secondary if he's on IR.

Haha I was just going to make this thread. Honestly?

1. Not trade Chris Harris.

2. The Briggs trade.

Briggs was arguable our best defensive player this year, better than Urlacher and Harris. Good God I can't imagine where we'd have been without him.

Yeah, I wouldn't have traded for AA though, and keep Chris Harris. Maybe we could have spent that money on Eric Steinbach or something.

It was Briggs and our first (31) for the 6th pick. Who knows who we would've taken then, but Cliff Levingston knows that we wouldn't have taken Olsen.

But Cliff Levingston would go along with that.

1. Trade Briggs and pick LaRon Landry.
2. ...as a result, don't trade for Archuleta.
3. Fire Ron Turner.

That Adam Archuletta deal really f-ed us all up. (#2 mentioned by EJ). Chris Harris back there would've at least kept our D from giving up additional yards to big plays by our opponents (via Air and/or Ground).

I guess not trading Briggs to DC (for the #6 pick) also hurt too, based on the Benson inconsistency (I do put 25% to 40 % of the blame on the Offensive Line for lack of Rushing Yards).

I'm pretty mad at Lovie this year. He just seems different this year than last year. Last year he more than stood up for our group (vs. the critical media), and I guess privately held them accountable. He stood up for them this year too, but based on the unpredictable play on both sides of the ball, I don't think he held the players or staff accountable. BTW, on MJH, Lovie thought/said the D played better at the end of this year than last year?? Lovie is smoking some really wild doobies if he's confidently thinking/stating that.

The defense sucked to finish last year. We just had a pretty good offense.
