Who do you pick?
To all of you confused souls out there that think the Bears are picking higher, this is how the order is determined.
1.Record
2.Opponents winning % (higher it is, lower you pick)
3.Divisional and Conference Record
4.Coin Flip
Below are all the teams with their individual records. Next to the records are the number of wins their opponents have. The lower the number, the higher the pick the team gets. As you can see, the Bears get #14. They get #14 over Detroit because Detroit had a better divisional record than the Bears did by 1 game.

I know it blows that we now have a lower draft pick. But I will tell you this, I had a lot of fun watching the last two Bears games. I also found myself still cheering for the Bears to win, while knowing it is screwing their draft position up. It is what it is. The Bears won 7 games and have this pick, bitching won't get us anywhere. Furthermore, I don't want a coach that tanks the last two games of the season, and for that matter, what player would want to play for a coach like that.

So you are happy the Bears not only missed the playoffs but got one of the worst draft picks you could get for missing the playoffs?
Who the hell is going to be our QB next year? You can't tell me Kyle Orton will start for us next year. If Orton/Griese/Grossman starts for us in 2008 I will not be watching any of the games next year. Angelo better be working out a trade this offseason.

The Rams just signed Marc Bulger to a pricy extension last off-season. I believe they're still committed to him for the long-haul. I can't see the Rams going QB. The Raiders just drafted Jamarcus Russell #1 overall in last year's draft, c'mon there's no way Oakland goes QB.
Kansas City and Atlanta are good candidates to go with QB's. The Jets...hmmm I'm not sure about them. I think they need a QB, though I think they might be very high on Kellen Clemens for whatever reason.
Carolina might bank on Delhomme returning healthy for another year. They might go for a quick-fix at another position thinking they can still contend. Baltimore only has 2 needs basically, O-Line and QB. I can see them snatching a QB up.
Hopefully Angelo trades up, I swear to god if we trade down again for like 2 second rounders or something and draft a pair of defensive lineman I'm gonna have a heart-attack.

That was our last chance to see Bears football for a while. I'm glad they won.
QB is not our biggest problem. Grossman would look better with a better OL and a better running game, which would also look better with a better OL.

SportsWorld, I'm not picking a fight with you. Please don't put words into my mouth. I was happy to watch good football being played by my favorite team. It was enjoyable to watch. As bad as my team is, when a team quits on his coach you are in a much worse position than having the 14th pick in the draft. The bears didn't quit on Lovie. And Lovie didn't quit on them. I am happy to see that.

I'd still like to see one of the top 3 QB's come to Chicago, as I've said many times. But even if they do draft a QB, he will not be starting for the Bears next season. I doubt the Bears will pay the price it will take to get either McNabb or Anderson via trade. I don't want a Safety in the first round.
My reason:
The one good thing Angelo can do is find Defensive talent in the later rounds. I believe he can find a quality Safety in the later rounds and not have to spend a 1st rounder on one.
I see an O-Lineman or a trading down to get more picks.

I'm not trying to pick a fight with you, I am just upset with the crappy season this team had. Maybe these 2 wins are a sign of something to come next season. The Green Bay Packers ended last season and look at them now.

The top QB's in this draft aren't any good. Matt Ryan is the best prospect? He's Alex Smith pt. 2.
Get an impact safety on this team and our defense instantly looks elite again (with others returning from injury as well like Harris and Dvoracek. Otherwise, we need a MUCH better offensive line. IF we're going to take a QB, Cliff Levingston would rather take ca chance on a 1-AA QB or a lesser guy in the 2nd or 3rd round; the 1st round QB's are going to be hot garbage compared to their draft position.
