Am I the only one who is happy about this move? The guy is mediocre at best. He's old and slow, and his hands certainly don't make up for that deficiency. Maybe we can finally see Mark Bradley. If JA is going to pay Berrian #1 WR money than he's going to have to be the #1 WR here.

I'm just sad because Mushin was such a great guy and player to root for. He was always on Comcast helping out there and to see him go like this is kind of sad. But it's for the best.

Well not as harshly put by WT, but yeah, Moose's time has come to an end. If he want to play again, he needs to take a lot less money. At this point for the BEARS its important to look forward and not back. Moose might have one more year left in the tank and thats it. Plus, freeing up some change for Berrian is necessary, as I believe the Eagles are looking to sign Berrian to some contract. Unless we can get a high draft pick in return, its best to hold on to BB. For once JA made a few good moves. He needs to make a few more good moves to put this team back into contention.

He did seem like a good guy. I wonder who will pick him up next year. He's still a legitimate #3 WR, at a smaller contract.

I'm glad he's gone. He served his purpose and now he and the team can move on. It's a business. And it's not like it's the first time he's been released.

As long as the Bears resign Berrian this isn't a big deal. Look for Marty Booker to become a Bear again.
I just hope the Bears don't start addressing the WR position in the offseason when it's the least of the Bears' worries right now. And for the love of God, play Mark Bradley once in a blue moon.

I'm going to miss those Moose calls....especially when we were at away games. That's how you knew the Bears were popular.
IMO, the Berrian move will be very indicative about what we do in the draft now that we have cut Moose.

It's a shame, I thought Walker could of been a good Bears but at the same time I'm elated that Miller was cut.

I don't know if the Bears want Booker back. They should take a look at Drew Carter, and Patrick Crayton too (maybe Bryant Johnson). Not certain that Berrian is going to be around here long. There are probably better suitors out there.
While we're getting all nostalgic though...just say no to Marcus Robinson.

I think Crayton signed a pretty big extension at the end of the year, commentators were saying that it would inflate Berrian's contract big time. Probably for the best though, Crayton drops a lot of easy ones, and his mouth gets him in trouble.
Unfortunately, I think Booker is our best option.

Hell, he dropped so many passes the last season and a half that I forgot their was a Moose on the field. More like a cow. I think this means the Bears resign Berrian, move him to Moose's spot and Hester goes wide out full time as the burner that opens up the run game.

Cliff Levingston hopes so. He heard on the radio that Moose's cutting opens up 3+ million in cap space which is much more valuable than Moose the football player, ICLO.

I don't see how this is a bad thing. You can resign Booker at a cheaper price, but that difference will probably go to Berrian if the Bears want him back. Our receiving core would be: Booker, Berrian, Bradley, Hester, and Davis...Not great but still pretty good. We also cut Fred Miller who was eating up cap and lacked production. We'll probably draft a solid O-Lineman in the 1st or 2nd round.

The greatness of that receiving core would be on Devin Hester. Moose said he saw a lot of Steve Smith in him. Year 1: great return man. Year 2: started getting him involved in the offense. Year 3: Very productive as a WR. Hopefully Devin can follow that same progression. Alongside Berrian, there's few teams (if any) that can match up with that speed.

True. Hopefully the cutting of Miller is a pre-cursor to drafting a future stud OT, maybe moving Tait to the right side and putting the rookie in at left.

Not a bad thing, he was pretty bad last year. However I really liked him.
Hopefully a team will pick him up and let him get his 10,000 career receiving yards. Him telling Hester where to stand when he was in on offense was invaluable as well.
