Alex Brown - signed through 2011

Post#1 » by Cliff Levingston » Tue Feb 19, 2008 6:10 pm

Cliff Levingston thinks this deserves it's own thread.

Big move for Angelo, ICLO. Alex came on strong toward the end of the season in Anderson's absence, perhaps showing the coaching staff that they made a mistake in giving his starting position to young Mark.

Either way though. Alex is a good end who can do a bit of everything and helps in trying to keep the defensive line as strong on the ends.

I love this signing. I thought this was bigger news then the release of Moose. With our injury troubles on the O-line, grabbing Brown for a few more years was huge

Lets trade Mark Anderson for a solid safety

People will see his 06 sack #s and overpay.

True, we need depth at DE. We also need actual players at the other positions.

What's even bigger is that this signing is an admission by JA that he made a mistake. :D

Yay Alex Brown!

Anyone(especially linemen) that pick off Brett Favre deserve their own thread. (and extension)

I don't think so. JA has always said he wants all three ends to rotate. Its certainly not a mistake to give a rookie that had 12 sacks the starting job. A mistake would have been to give Anderson the starting job and to cut or trade Brown (kinda like what we did at safety last year w/ the arrival of AA)

JA  for you.
