I figure we should all put down our ideal scenario's, or what we think might happen in one thread.

I am sold on the idea that the Bears will end up trading down in the draft. The only questions are with who, and what for?

I think a good trading partner would be the 49rs. They have made a lot of moves in Free Agency and have a late first round pick because they traded their top pick away. According to the trade chart, it would work out if the Bears swapped first round picks and received the 49rs 2nd round pick.

I also think that this would put the 49rs in a position to draft DeSean Jackson. With Martz as the new OC they could use a WR like him.

*This may not happen, but remember, it's just for fun.

So the Bears would then have these picks:
1: 29
2: 39, 44
3: 75, 90
4: 106
5: 136
6: 172
7: 204

This gives the Bears 5 picks in the first 3 rounds and a better chance to shore up some of their holes.

Round 1: OT Sam Baker USC
Round 2: WR Devin Thomas Michigan St.
QB Joe Flacco Delaware
Round 3: OG Roy Schuening Oregon St.
RB Steve Slaton West Virginia
Round 4: SS Craig Steltz L.S.U.
Round 5: DT Dre Moore Maryland
Round 6: S Michael Grant Arkansas
Round 7: WR Justin Harper Virginia Tech

If we have a draft like that I will stop bashing Angelo for 365 days. That being said, a draft like that would be a pipe dream.

This is ideal scenario here. I agree, the odds of the draft working out this way are slim to none...but a guy can hope.

And to tell you the truth, this is really the only way that the Bears could really cover their @sses without signing any FA's.

Nice but unrealistic draft. I'm still high on Kenny Phillips in the 1st round. I think we could be a really sick defense with him and hopefully Mike B. back there.

I think it's realistic if we can make the trade with San Francisco. All those(besides really Moore, who's projected 3/4) picks are projected around where they will be taken. Some changes I would offer though is:

Brendan Albert OG Virginia instead of Sam Baker
James Hardy instead of Devin Thomas
Jamaal Charles(2nd round) instead of Steve Slaton

I also would look at Andre Caldwell, Dexter Jackson, and Chad Henne as some other choices.

I didn't realize that Moore was projected that high.

I think that Flacco could be substituted with Henne.
I also think that Otah might slip a lot farther in the draft than people think, possibly out of the first round.



I would rather have Charles, in fact he's probably the one player I want the Bears to draft more than anyone, but I have heard that the Bears are pretty high on Slaton...at least they were before the combine.

In the end, I doubt that the Bears could make a trade with the 49ers, but it was more of a wishful thinking mock draft.

Scrolling around the internet I've also seen that the Bears have shown interest in Thomas at WR.

I think that if the Bears did make this trade wtih the niners, the majority of these picks are somewhat realistic in the sense that this is where most of the guys are projected to go.

Obviously in drafts there are always surprises both in rising and falling values.

Well, with Thomas, EVERYONE is interested in this kid. He had an amazing combine.

Otah is definitely dropping, and dropping fast becasue he didn't show up at the Combine like some people thought he would. Er, he did show up, just that he showed up fat.

There's a TON of WRs I want to be honest, like Lima Sweed, Malcolm Kelly, Lavelle Hawkins, Dexter Jackson. Tons. I'm extremely high on Sweed and Caldwell though.

Tell me about Caldwell.

He's the brother of Reche Caldwell(Washington Redskins) and is about 6ish and runs about a 4.35-4.37. Played WR and returned some kicks. The thing about this guy that I like is he's fast and you can use him in situations like end around(he scored the game winning touchdown in the senior bowl on one) and we can use him in conjunction with Devin Hester in that way. He actually is now the Florida's career receptions leader(with over 155.) and this is with missing a large part of his 2005 season. The concern with him is that he had a knee injury and broke his leg during 2005.

I like his combination of speed, hands and just overall determination(leg injuries like that usually take a lot of effort to come back from and those end arounds, man. He could teach Ced Ben a thing or two.)

I honestly dont see Sam Baker as that high of a pick. If Oath and Clady are off the board who do we take? Shad', Kelly, Jackson, Sweed? Or are we so dead set on O line that we will reach?
