Possible 3rd Round choice?

Post#1 » by chibearsfan » Sun Apr 27, 2008 2:03 am

Well I think the best way to go for the 3rd round would by a receiver and guard.

My hopes for WR:

Early Doucet
Mario Manningham
Andre Caldwell

Guards:

Oniel Cousins
Drew Radovich (USC player, prolly is good?)
Chad Rinehart
Jeremy Zuttah

I sure wouldn't mind landing a sure tackling, high IQ safety like Zbikowski. I'd like to grab a guard or a play making receiver as well. Maybe we can get a vet OG after cuts are made. But we remain in desperate need of another WR and safety.

I would like a guy like Mario Manningham in the 3rd round. He is a big play receiver.

I'd like a guard with the 1st 3rd Round pick of ours

With the 2nd 3rd round pick,if Mario Manningham is around I'd like to take him(Even though he had a disappointing 40 time and he lied to teams about smoking weed).

If not Manningham,Caldwell will do.

In the 4th Round,Josh Johnson,Andre Woodson, and David-Booty might all be around so I'd definitely look out for that

Yes but Angelo needs to take a risk. Patriots took a risk on Moss last year and it payed off for them.

What? Moss smokes weed too? Get out of here!

If it's even between Manningham, Doucet, and Caldwell, I'd make the two failed tests the tie-breaker and after one of the latter guys.

if manningham or doucet are available at 70, id pick them up and run with it. if not, than id grab the OG that can best fit in our system.

I'd take the weed smoker in round 3.

Wow....a football player smokes weed?...oh my god!!!!....whats next?.....a football player who lies about smoking weed???

George freaking Bush admitted to doing worse than weed and he's our President (who isn't like very much but i don't mind him). So who gives a flying puck if he smoked weed. Dallas Mavericks should trade Josh Howard asap.

Considering we took a RB with our second round pick, we should make sure our OL is a big strength. That sounds tough with two rookies starting but we have solid vets in Kruetz and Tait to keep things in order and guide the young fellas along.

Now having said that my guys for LG are

Drew Radovich - a legit good offensive lineman for the Torojans. Him and Baker made the rest of the guys look good. Chilo was a strech for the second round. Chilo shoud've been third or even fourth round talent.

Mike McGlynn - Otah stood out on their line at Pitt, but McGlynn was the more versatile guy. He did long snaps, and also played left and right tackle at times.

The other 3rd rounder is a WR for me. Eddie Royal would've been my pick, but not surprised he went early. A little surprise he was called before Sweed and Kelly.

My guys at WR are

Andre Caldwell - legit 4.3 40 time, big playmaker

Earl Bennet - hes got 4.4 speed and he h ad great chemistry with Jake Cutler, when Cutler was QB.

Both guys are possesion guys around the 6 foot mark, which is what this team needs. With a RB in the second round I believe we are going to be a run dominated team more than ever, so posseions and clock management are more important than big plays. These guys can get seperation. Ok don't get me wrong, there aren't that many sexy receivers in the draft this year, but these guys are the stand out s with whats left.

Good luck Bears for rounds 3-4-5-....

Well, THAT and that he's dumb enough to smoke prior to a test. Then you start to wonder about the crowd he's hanging with, etc, On a guy that's a home run you can try to overlook that stuff but when you're comparable to a few other WRs in terms of talent at the some point in the draft, it matters. He's probably already slipped further than he should have. Hope that blunt was worth it.

That would make TWO Vandy guys in one draft if it's Bennett ! Unheard of ! Actually, I like your picks. I'm going to say it'll be between Jeremy Zuttah a guard from Rutgers who can play anywhere along the line and Roy Shuening, a guard from Oregon St with the first pick and between WRs Early Doucet and Andre Caldwell with the second. I could easily see the other guards and WRs you mentioned right there, though.

I might be wrong, but I thought Shuenig was more of a RG guy, where as the two I mentioned played RG in their senior years, but played half their college careers at LG, and also some tackle.

Doucet is also a WR i should've mentioned but I thought two would be good for integrity factor. I always liked Bennet, with everythig I heard about his instintcs, especially when he had Cutler as QB. I always thought the chemistry between the QB and WR are very very important.

Caldwell is self explanitory, I think he's the lone standout with whats left.

I have developed a big man crush on Caldwell. If we can't get my other man crush Sweed then I demand we at least get Caldwell.

I' sure some other teams think Caldwell is a standout as well,so we just have to cross our fingers.
