Predictions for 2008?

Post#1 » by chibearsfan » Wed May 14, 2008 10:31 pm

This board is dead so I'm starting a topic just for fun.

Predict what will happen this upcoming season. You can discuss what the Bears' record will be, who will have a great season, who will struggle, who'll get injured, what's gonna happen with Urlacher, how badly will Benson screw up, will Rex go on a shooting spree (jk), etc.

Have fun!

Back from Ethiopia with a new outlook on the 2008 BEARS!

1. Moving Tait to RT and starting a rookie phenom at LT, along with stepped up guard play and contribution from Beekman solidifies the Bears O Line.

2. With the pressure off, Grossman is no longer a pinball in the pocket and settles in behind the new line and has a solid season.

3. 1+2+ competition at RB= new found running game

4. 1+2+3= Hester makes the pro Bowl....at WR

5. The Bears suffer NO significant INJURIES on defense other than Mike Brown going out with a season ending muscle tear in his forehead and are one of the top 3 defense teams in Points against.

6. Bears win the North and play in the NFC title game.

Book it.

Defense needs to stay relatively healthy for my predictions - not 100% healthy, but not anywhere close to last year.

Bears win 10-11 games.

Benson looks actually pretty decent behind an improved line, but so does Forte. Bears return to the top half of the league in rushing.

Grossman plays decent, having few games where people call for Orton.

Brown plays suffers an injury early, but this time he actually comes back later in the season after missing 6-8 games.

Bears defense returns to top 5.
Bears offense cracks the top 20.

Bears win at least one game in the playoffs.

CBS7 is disappointed at the end of the season. :wavefinger:

I predict that the Bears defense gets back to its dominant ways. I see a lot of turnovers caused and defensive touchdowns. Stay healthy!!

Defensive Line - Deep and talented with Wale, Brown, and Anderson at DE. Stud Harris at DT and we need one more to step up...Dvoracek, Harrison?

Linebacker - Same solid core with 2 All-Pro players we have had for years.

Safety - Mike Brown would be a bonus, but we finally have guys who can play if and when he goes down. I like our young safety's, and it was addition by subtraction when we cut the sorry ass Archuletta.

Corner - Our best position on the team, in my opionin. Peanut and Vasher have all pro potential. Solid depth behind them with McBride, Manning, and rookie.

If the defense can play great and the offense can simply move the ball and not turn it over I predict an 11-5 season and a chance in the NFC!! Go Bears!

Way to go out on a limb on that one.

How would that be possible if he doesn't play in 2008?
Anyhoo, I predict the opposite.

Bears go 11-5 (5-1 in the Division, the only loss to the Vikes). They get past their first game in the playoffs, lose the 2nd game (probably by 10 pts to the Eagles). Either way, it'll be a good rebound season.

Probably 7-9 although we could end up winning up to 10 depending on how our QB's preform.

Grossman will light it up the first few weeks and then return to his collapse in the pocket self. :D

Benson won't play great, but will play just good enough to make the RB situation difficult.

Hester will improve at WR, but please, he's not going to supplant the dozens of already established WRs in the Pro Bowl. He'll still be a Pro Bowl returner though.

Mike Brown will get injured, but this time it will be later in the season - week 13 or 14.

The Bears' third string QB will be a fan favorite. :D
