Over/Under on Benson Rushing yards

Post#1 » by dingojazz » Wed Jun 4, 2008 7:12 pm

OK I'm setting the over/under for Benson rushing yards at 674 (his total from last year). Which way would you bet your hard earned money?

I'm way too optomistic but I'll bet the over, I'm holding onto hope that he will start 16 games, show some toughness, and keep Forte as a complimentary player.

Here's to Benson quieting his critics and approaching 1000 yards and averaging more the 4 yards per carry

the sooner benson is off our roster the happier i'll be, i just hope he can show enough for us to get something in return

ill say under b/c of forte, peterson, and wolfe but management is dead set on giving benson every undeserved opportunity as possible

Over.

With the coaches giving him the nod, and with confidence, or at least the media says so, he'll have plenty of opportunities.

He won't be starting by the end of the season, but he'll have his load of carries. I'll say 40-% Benson 60+% Forte when its all said and done.

Forte at around 1000 rushing yards.

I'll go with the under. I think RB is a position a rookie can come in and produce fairly quickly and Forte will show the vision and ability to do something once past the defensive line that Benson can only dream about. Add to the fact that Benson is still leaving his QB out to dry in pass blocking and I think Forte will be in there starting at some point prior to mid-season and given he's a three down back that leaves little precious time for CB.

Over, easily. I can see anywhere from 800-1000 yards from Benson next year.

I would put big money on over. Benson looked very promising when he had to compete with Thomas Jones. I think the added competition with Forte coming in will inspire Benson to work very hard. He's already lost weight, and sounds like he is ready to breakout this year.

My excitement for Beson having a breakout year took a major blow when news of his second arrest in a month just came out. He was arrested for DUI this weekend in Texas.

He could face suspensions from the league, or who knows the Bears could cut him outright much like Tank. What a jackass.

I'll say over 674 easy now for Forte.

I'm going to go set the new over and under at...1 yard.

Any takers?

Does yardage count if we include his dash from the police car to the jailhouse? That might help me come to a more accurate decision. Cause right now I have him at -55 YPC.
