Chicago Bears running back Cedric Benson allegedly blew a red light shortly after 3 a.m. this morning in Austin, Texas and was arrested and charged with drunk driving, police said.

Yeah he might have blown his last chance with the Bears. Even after the boating incident I had hope he would fight through the adversity and come out of it a better player and person.
Hey Cedric, you're a multi-millionaire. Pay someone to drive your drunk ass home at 3 in the morning. You would think after the whole boating thing he would lay low and focus on getting ready for training camp. He's as dumb as a bag of rocks.

In the last 5 to 10 yrs, it is embarrassing to see athletes and celebrities get away with what they have. Its time to drop the Marshall law on them and let it be known, no one is above the law. He's a reject who didn't learn the first time. I doubt he has learned from this experience either. I say send him out to Iraq, and let him know how great he's got it.

Shaun Alexander
Kevin Jones
Lamont Jordan
Mike Anderson
Just a few of the names of RBs that are worth giving another chance before giving that chance to Cedric Benson. The guy has never been any good unlike the above mentioned players AND he can't stay out of legal trouble and he just doesn't get it. JUST DO IT - it is time to cut the guy and move on. The Bears have cap space - take a 1 year chance on Alexander. What do they have to lose?

The team gave him the benefit of the doubt on the boating charge. But with this news I can't imagine how he'd be a favorite to start at RB. Another very stupid move pulled by an incredibly stupid person.
See ya Cedric. You make Rashaan Salaam look like Marshall Faulk. Do us all a favor: just kill yourself. It'd be quicker and less painful for the fans.

I felt the team shouldve cut him after the boating incident. You dont give players like Benson who dont produce on the field and has issues since day one the benefit of the doubt.
I was more willing to give Tank a pass after he was pulled over then this clown . But now that they have set the precedent by actually cutting someone useful they have top do the same to Benson.

This will surely cost him the starting spot, if not his spot on the Bears.

You know as much as I want this guy off the team for good ASAP... I don't want to make it that easy for him. I say we suspend his for this entire year and let him rot on the bench. We'll still be paying him if we cut him, so let him so I say the Bears should suspend his dumb@$$ for the remainder of the season.
Cutting him is taking the easy way out. Too many times have I seen it go on these past few years, where a player gets cut then within months he signs on with another team and "gets another chance". BS, don't give him a chance and suspend his ass!

I say screw it.. Cut him. Let him be someone else's headache. I mean where's he going to go? The Lions? Yeah, good luck with that. In fact, Detoilet would be the perfect place because he's an absolute Sh*thead.
You know the Cowboys aren't giving him a shot. Arizona already has Edgerrin James whom I doubt wants to be a mentor. the Bengals already have the market cornered on a-holes. Ditto for the Raiders of Insignificant, CA. So, who does that leave? The Chargers(unlikely), the Titans(not that stupid) or the Texans(maybe).
Does it really matter where he goes after the Bears. I can't imagine him making any of those practice squads, no less the team. Especially with his knack for being a **** up.
