Offensive Line

Am I the only one truly worried about the O-Line again this season? I know we drafted Williams and are allowed to move Tait back to the right side. But right now, even though it is early in camp, we are seeing a lot of injuries to this extremely thin Line. The one thing that this Offense needs to at least have a shot of success is an improved Line but I don't know if that is going to happen. This could really bite Angelo in his arse.

Everyone was and is worried about the offensive line other than (apparently) Jerry Angelo and the coaching staff.

Color me extremely worried. Chris Williams' back could really screw things up.

If Williams is fine we'll be fine
If he is not we have backups from last year starting------and they are just backups
so yeah a lot is riding on Williams
or look for a couple scrappy driven vets
angelo will get someone if williams is out
so im worried, but not overly

It was the worst part of the team last season, and it's only upgrade can barely standup without his vertebrae grinding together.
But no, I'm good.

Please don't let me think the word bust with our first round pick already

Jerry Angelo and the coaching staff and me. I actually think the line will be fine. I'm really high on some of the young guys we drafted recently. I'm reading that Beekman and Tyler Reed look solid. I'll have the whole season to panic - but for now...no worries. 11-5

The longer Williams and Metcalf miss the more worried I get. St. Clair would be our starting LG if Williams were healthy. Although he is a decent LT, he is a journeyman for a reason and I have nightmares of Dwight Freeney killing whoever our QB is in week 1.
I expect to see a lot of running to the right side behind Tait and Garza and using TE's and RB's to help pass protect.

The fact that Williams has been absent from camp is a big red flag. As a caller to one of the morning shows pointed out - there's no reason, if he was getting better, that he wouldn't be participating in drills and things like that while the team was scrimmaging. It's bad, really bad, and the Bears have no interest in sharing it right now.

From Chicagosports.com
Faced with an injury-depleted offensive line, the Bears could begin this season the same way it ended 2007. The team has contacted veteran tackle Fred Miller about making a return to the team, according to Miller's agent.
Oh wow... time to put down the beers and break out the JD

Trib reported Williams hasn't even seen a specialist yet. Sorry, I'm not looking up the link.
In my mind this means either :
a) The training staff doesn't think it's serious
b) The Bears are idiots for not making him seek expert advice

No, just no! I'll play for free JA. At least I know what I am doing on the field.
But if Chris Williams is healthy I think we have a solid LT and RT on both sides, but between the two I have questions aside from Olin Kreutz.

Didn't the announcer just say Williams just had Herniated Disc surgery last night? If we're contacting Miller we're in trouble. I knew we shoulda drafted more OL or at least signed some veteran who can still move.
