So much for those dreams of getting Jeff Garcia.

A Brett Favreless Green Bay make the NFC North more interesting. I think the Vikings are on top but if our defense is healthy we could be the second best team.

An era has ended. The rivalry won't be the same, but it increases our chances for the play-offs this year, which as of right now with two bad QB's and a rookie running back doesn't seem right.

If I was Brett, I would have demanded to the Vikings. They would have been a crazy team with the great defense and Favre and A-Pete on offense. I'd be pissed if I got traded to the Jets.

The Jets have gotten much better this year though even before getting Favre.

I don't know maybe by spending 140 million dollars improving their team this offseason.

Looking at it the Jets did add a few big pieces.

But who did they lose first:
Vilma and Robertson

But they drafted:
Gholston
Dustin Keller - A good TE for Favre

They traded for:
Brett Favre
Kris Jenkins

They signed:
Faneca - who we all wanted
Damien Woody
Calvin Pace
Tony Richardson
Bubba Franks
Jesse Chatman
Musa Smith
and Ahmad Carroll

With Coles and Cotchery their WR's should be pretty good, but they will need a good slot receiver. The O-Line looks like it should do their job and Thomas Jones should have an excellent year if he can stay healthy now that they have an improved OL and Favre.

The defense will be interesting. If Gholston lives up to the hype, and Pace and Harris continue what they've done last season they could have some very good LB's.
But if you look at their two DE's and DT, I think they have a combined 9 sacks last season.
I admit I know nothing about their DB's.
I think playing in a division with Buffalo and Miami should net them a 2nd place finish and a potential Wild Card birth...but I think that is unlikely.

So do we want Pennington? He isn't much better than Grossman/Orton.

Sure why not. However, I've always believed Chad is one of Bill Wennington's offspring. And Chad knew decided to change his last name by swapping a "W" to a "P."

Pennington is Grossman without the arm.

Favre should have pushed for Minny, but the Jets are a better situation than Tampa Bay. Bigger market, probably better players.

Still wish the Bears would have just stopped being so stubborn and made a play for the guy. I know our offense is in shambles, but maybe a decent Favre could have complimented our D just enough to where we could grab a Lombardi trophy while the window was open.

Kudos to the Bucs for even getting in the mix. It says something for the organization that they took a stab at Favre even though they already have a QB in Garcia that's much better than anything we have.

Pennington has no arm but he is NOT Grossman..the guy is super accurate (career stats are 10% better completion percentage wise)and in an offense that would be run first he would be a great fit IMO.

He wouldn't be able to take advantage of Hester's speed with the deep ball but Pennington is better than Grossman and Orton IMO>
