Muhsin Muhammad and Tank Johnson Speak Out

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. (AP) - A pair of former Chicago Bears have blasted the team's passing game and quarterback Rex Grossman, but that didn't worry the team.

Former Bears wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad told Sports Illustrated the team is where receivers go to die.

And former Bears defensive tackle Tank Johnson told CBS Sportsline.com that Grossman was "brittle" and "soft."

Grossman is battling Kyle Orton for the Bears' starting quarterback spot. He had little to say about the comments, saying that he doesn't pay much attention to any of it.

Didn't Muhammad like Grossman? At least that's the way it seemed.

I thought Grossman was in Moose's wedding wasn't he??

Fortunely for Muhammad, he was already dead before he came here.

I don't know....my knee-jerk reaction is to say Moose is right but, then again, I think it was the Bears receivers coach that correctly pointed out that Berrian made himself a rich man this offseason off the numbers he posted with Bears QBs tossing him the ball.

Moose and Tank need to move on with their lives and worry about their current teams. Considering the number of balls MM dropped during his tenure here, I personally think he should STFU.

Talking crap AFTER you leave is weak to me. Moose talked crap about Orton when he was here. He was sooo happy to get Rex back. Now he's blaming the fact that someone amputated his hands on Rex. Very weak.

As for Tank? I'm surprised he would ever have a comment about anyone or anything.

I really can't argue with anything either of the guys said. With Lovie, Angelo, and Turner running things this offense is a black hole. I can't say I agree with when they said these things, but what they've said isn't particularly shocking.

Moose is a Piece Of S#!T who never played like he was paid for the Bears. He dropped so many catchable balls it was sickening. He was also never the leader or mentor he thought he was.

Tank on the other hand, I wish was still in a Bears uniform. We jumped the gun on releasing him. He would be awesome next to Tommie. Not cool of him to call out Rex, let it go Tank, let it go.

My how things change.

Oh, and it was the other way around. Moose went to Rex's wedding.

Dad, receiver back up QB at wedding

Dr. Daniel Grossman provided some extra rhythm to the group Gospel Choir Jubilation at Rex and Alison Grossman's wedding reception Saturday. The groom's dad led a funny, impromptu song of gratitude for the sunny skies that blessed the celebration.

God may have brought the good weather, Grossman joked, but Muhsin Muhammad was the person who could bring a bit of heaven to the Chicago Bears next season.

Muhammad, who attended the wedding with his wife, Christa, seemed ready to take on that challenge. He'll be receiving passes from the groom when the season gets under way.

The Muhammads were impressed with the wedding reception, which was quite different from their own nuptials. When they married in Michigan, their reception was a much more "down home" affair, Muhsin Muhammad said.

Moose played the right cards when he was in Chicago. I never thought he was that flashy, show off reciever, but he is in his own right.

He might not do crazy spontaneous dances in the end zone, or hog sportscenter highlights with goodplays and his antics, but he was for sure a media magnet.

He took full advantage of his early popularity in Chicago, getting a TV spot on CSN, doing weekly interviews with his own radio segments, etc. But after those opportunities came, his recieving game left. He got his own show last year, mainly because of his 60 catch season along with his popularity with the fans. How did he do next season? By far, a career low, 40 catches.

Where are the priorities?

He seemed real happy on his "Hangin' with the Moose" segment on CSN though.

Nice find. What a two-face. What we have to consider though is maybe he's making more of a dig on Ron Turner's offense and not necessarily Rex.

Moose knew the deal.

Who the **** doesn't know that Chicago has shoddy QB play and traditionally we are a run first pass when necessary team?

He just wanted money, regardless of the fact that all of our QB's sucked.

As for Tank, why is he even bothered? He got himself thrown out, and he was on the other side of the ball.

I agree with CjayC. Moose knew the deal from the get go. He came to Chicago for the $ otherwise, the Panthers would've ponied up. BTW, Moose just got popped by Brian Dawkins of the Eagles, in the end zone, where he couldn't hold on to the pass. I don't see Moose making it through the season.

As for Tank, well hey, he'll be in another round of breaking the law in Texas soon enough. He's in no position to talk junk, because Rex didn't carry 19 guns in his car with all the media scrutiny. IMO, REX >>> Tank, mentally speaking.

And now for something completely different:

Tank Johnson was on that Hard Knocks show, and said that there's times where he feels like he's a part of a pack of dogs being herded around from one room to another during camp. Same guy who was letting pitbulls run around with M-16s, right? Yeah, I found the analogy funny.

Bobby Wade got a nice deal after playing for the bears

so did Justin Gage ...

Berrian got one of the biggest wide receiver deals playing alongside Moose so what exactly is he talking about ? Moose is one of the biggest excuse makers Ive seen on the Bears and there have been some pretty good ones .How many balls did he drop ?
