Bears part ways with Ricky Manning Jr.

Post#1 » by CBS7 » Tue Aug 26, 2008 10:51 pm

Lake Forest, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago Bears terminated the contract of veteran cornerback Ricky Manning, Jr. on Tuesday

Oh well. He wasn't getting much PT at all in our crowded secondary.

Hopefully this means that Danieal Manning and other like Corey Graham, Trumaine McBride and Zack Bowman are doing well.

D. Manning's progression was the main reason why he was cut. Hope he's still good enough to find a home somewhere. It doesn't help to bitch about pt, either.

D. Mannings progression? Didn't he lose his starting job this year? Are they just planning on him replacing Ricky's nickel spot or something? Either way less plays on the field for D. Manning this year.

I've read D. Manning has made strides as a nickel corner, and won't be moved back and forth between corner and safety this season like he was last season. So he's a nickel now, not a safety.

Early prediction: this isn't going to go well.

And am I the last one to find out Danieal and Ricky are cousins ?

No. I had no idea they were related. Just thought they coincidentally had the same last name.

I think D.Manning got a little screwed over by the Bears coaching staff, but he'll be fine at nickel.

R. Manning, I"m far from sad to see you go.

I like Ricky Manning Jr, he always seemed to have a knack for the ball especially when it came to playing the Seahawks. Oh well.

I don't know you, but you can at least take over the first round drafting for the Bears. I'm sure it'd work out better than it currently does.
