Another high pick from the Bears' 2005 draft class is history.

Wide receiver Mark Bradley was waived this afternoon to make room for cornerback Marcus Hamilton.

Bradley was a second-round pick from Oklahoma in the same draft that produced running back Cedric Benson in the first round. He came on in his rookie season before a torn ACL in the middle of the year derailed him. Bradley never recovered and spent much of last season in the doghouse. He was hailed as a starter after Bernard Berrian escaped via free agency and veteran Muhsin Muhammad was released, but Bradley required arthroscopic knee surgery in May and was essentially never seen from again. He appeared on the field for one offensive snap in three games.

He departs to make room for Hamilton, who made his NFL debut Sunday for Tampa Bay. A seventh-round pick out of Virginia in 2007, Hamilton spent all last season on the practice squad.

Check back for more later on.

I like Bradley that was my response too :)

Hopefully someone else is going as well and they can get Brandon Rideau off the practice squad.

He obviously lost it. If he was any good he'd still be on the roster.

I really liked Bradley as well, but he just wasn't the same after multiple injuries.

2005 draft:
1 4(4) Cedric Benson HB Texas
2 7(39) Mark Bradley WR Oklahoma
4 5(106) Kyle Orton QB Purdue
5 4(140) Airese Currie WR Clemson
6 7(181) Chris Harris S La. Monroe
7 6(220) Rodriques Wilson OLB South Carolina

What a hell of a draft Angelo

Well, as long as Angelo is still the GM, there's really no point on me watching Day 1 of the NFL Draft.

Well there's that Harris pick that looks nice.....for the Panthers!

Actually, the '07 draft (overall) looks like quite the stinker already. I like Olsen but after that....ewwwwww :

2007
1.31 TE Greg Olsen Miami
2.30 DE Dan Bazuin Central Michigan from SD
3.29 RB Garrett Wolfe Northern Illinois from SD
3.30 LB Michael Okwo Stanford
4.31 OG Josh Beekman Boston College
5.30 S Kevin Payne Louisiana-Monroe from SD
5.31 CB Corey Graham New Hampshire
7.11 CB Trumaine McBride Mississippi from SF through CLE
7.31 OT Aaron Brant Iowa State

Bazuin, Okwo, and Brant are out of the league and Wolfe looks like a special teams guy. Beekman and Payne may or may not pan out and Graham and McBride may be nothing more than roster filler. I'm not even sure if any other team even invited Bazuin and Okwo for tryouts after they were waived and that's our 2nd and 3rd round picks, folks.

Payne has looked very good thus far, Beekman has looked decent. McBride had a decent rookie year, and he along with Graham are our 3rd and 4th corners.

2005 draft was 100 times worse.

agree with CBS.

I think this had more to do with Lloyd proving himself.

Our defensive backs have been doing a good job so far, we didn't need help. Our WR core is overloaded and it needed to be done.

Bradley signed a 2 year deal with the Chiefs I believe.

Wolfe is tied for the lead on Special Teams tackle, and not to mention how many returns and that awesome punt fake he had.

Suffice to say we expected more than a special teams guy out of a 3rd round pick, though. He should have at least been able to fill a change of pace RB-type role. No dice.

I thought Bradley was an absolutely moronic pick on draft day and was screaming at the TV at the time. He was the third receiver on his team and never even had a great college season. He may have been something in the NFL if not for the injuries, but he's had a long time to prove himself and couldn't climb on the depth chart with absolute crap as his competition. Bradley's no big loss, but our drafts have definitely not looked good over the the long haul.
