That game reminded me of last week when the Bears just didn't show up against the Packers. In this case, it was the second half for the Packers, but a game that the Packers essentially needed to win with both the Bears and Vikes winning, they laid an egg.

Which team will take advantage on Sunday? The last time these two met, defense was considered the plague, and now they move indoors. First one to 60 wins!

What happened to listing Detroit? They have a chance.

....oh, you them them in there, with very tiny letters. I guess they don't deserve more than that.

Remaining Games:

Chicago
@ Vikings
vs. Jags
vs. Saints
vs. Packers
@ Texans

Minnesota
vs. Bears
@ Lions
@ Cardinals
vs. Falcons
vs. Giants

Green Bay
vs. Panthers
vs. Texans
@ Jags
@ Bears
vs. Lions

Minnesota and Green Bay both have the advantage of playing the Lions again. Also, its very possible that the Giants could be resting starters in the final game against the Vikings. I don't know if anyone can go 4-1 or better, the division winner will probably be 9-7 with and win a tie breaker.

Basically, the Bears must win this Sunday night in Minnesota. Sweep the Vikings! C'mon league, suspend the Williams sisters already!!

From VikingUpdate.com today. These suspensions are key.
The waiting game may continue one more week or it may be over as early as today.

It is becoming more apparent that if the NFL is going to suspend any of the players involved in the StarCaps scandal, it will be done either today or early next week. With the Vikings awaiting the fate of Pat Williams and Kevin Williams, the wait is going to be one that they are anxiously dreading.

Conventional wisdom has it that, if the league is going to hand down suspensions, they don’t want to wait until the teams of the players in question start installing their game plan for the next week. As a result, suspensions are typically handed down on Monday or Tuesday (the players’ off-day). With the Saints, who also had players involved, playing on Monday night, it’s possible that game delayed an announcement for all.

Because there are only five games left in the regular season and the proposed suspensions are for four games, there are many who believe that if four-game suspensions are going to be handed down, the league will do so for the final four games of the regular season. Last year when Ray Edwards was suspended for four games, they came in the final four games of the regular season. Edwards told Viking Update that he didn’t appeal his suspension because he wanted to be available if the Vikings made the playoffs. The Williamses’ case is already under appeal. The league has tried to avoid extending suspensions into the following year because it usually doesn’t want to extend a suspension from one season into the next if possible.

What does that mean? The Williams Wall may be left intact for one more week – critical considering that the Vikings have a must-win game vs. the Bears for sole possession of first place coming up Sunday night. There is evidence that the league will stand by its guns and maintain its zero-tolerance policy concerning banned substances under the steroids policy – that a player is responsible for anything he puts into his body. Expect to see one of two things – either an announcement made in the next 24 hours or an announcement to be made next Tuesday.
Turn down for what?

The Vikings will lose their last 3 without their 2 stud tackles :

@ Cardinals
vs. Falcons (they will be punished by the run game)
vs. Giants

The Vikes will finish 8-8. I think Green Bay may only lose one more game (BEARS!) and finsih 9-7. That leaves the Bears having to go 4-1 or 3-2 and going for the tie breaker with Green Bay.

For personal reasons I'm pulling for 4-1.

It really is good news if they miss 4 weeks, even if they play against us. I don't see them winning many games without those two.

This week's game is HUGE.

Just for kicks, here is the Lions remaining schedule. They are in a race to go winless.

vs. Titans (can we get these bums off Thanksgiving yet)
vs. Vikings
@ Colts
vs. Saints
@ Packers

I predict they will get their first win at home against the Williams-less Vikings. Remember, the Vikings only beat them 12-10 in Minnesota. But, they could very easily lose all those games.

That game was a lot of fun to watch, but had some of the worst play calling I've seen since the John Shoop days on the Packers part. A blind squirrel should be able to score a touchdown with 1st and Goal at what, the 2? I knew McCarthy was conservative, but wow, that was mindboggling.

Packers pretty much have to win out now, because I have a feeling 9-7 wins this division.

Also, I enlarged Detroit's record because it makes me laugh.

Why didn't they have Rodgers sneak it in on 1st and 1 or 2nd and 1? Was it because he got his brains blown out by Julius Peppers the play before? Rodgers is tall enough to get in easily from 1 yard.

Rodgers was great all game, not sure why they didn't try a bootleg of some sort.

Haven't posted on realgm in i don't know how long, maybe a couple years.

Vikings' Williams Wall got suspended today.
Saints McAlister and Will Smith suspended also.

Those might prove to be big time breaks for Bears. This will crush the Vikings, its still the Bears division to lose at this point.

ZOMIG!!

That's huge. With the Packers at 5-7 and the Vikings a game ahead of us without their best and most important 2 players on defense with a tough schedule. If only they were suspended a week earlier. I've read most of the tiebreakers look like they are in favor of the Vikings if we finish up with the same record, though. So we need to go 3-1 and they need to go 1-3, or we need to go 4-0 and they need to go 2-2.

Deuce and Will Smith being out is big too. That takes their best player away on their already bad defense, however Bush is back (although he did squat against the Bucs) and Brees will likely pass all over us. Our offense should be able to keep up with theirs, though, and Brees is turnover prone at times.

Kevin and Pat Williams will play Sunday not that it will really make a difference.

The NFL will fight the TRO that the William Sisters got yesterday. That was a local yocal judge. The NFL will take it to Federal court before Sunday and I'd bet the TRO is removed. If the players prevail in the long run they would be awarded their money and damages, so maybe the TRO is not needed.

Of course I would always hate to be a Packer fan, but could you imagine being them now watch BF take the bottom dwelling Jets into SB contention while they are done in week 14? LOL!

Return to Chicago Bears
