http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/fo ... 1480.storyThe player known around here as "The Interceptor" might have had his season picked off.
According to sources, Nathan Vasher is expected to miss the remainder of the season after suffering a fracture in the same right hand he had wrist surgery on earlier this season. Vasher also re-injured his thumb during last Sunday's game against the Rams after getting his hand stuck between helmets while colliding with teammate Mark Anderson.
Coach Lovie Smith said Vasher would be out "for a while" but refused to rule him out for good and added Vasher won't undergo another surgery immediately.
"Right now, all I can say is he's not playing this week," Smith said. "Whenever you have a fracture [and] you re-injured the same hand that you had a little trouble with … I mean, you can go from there."

This isn't good news.. He has been dissapointing all season long and can't seem to stay healthy. From the perspective of will this really hurt the team; I don't know as he has kinda been pretty bad for the most part this year. Corey Graham here's your chance.
He's making big money and I don't know if we should be paying him big money going forward.

I never expected to be saying this, but this really isn't that costly of a loss. Vash is having his worst year as a pro in my opinion, and this gives Graham a chance to step up. Of course it hurts our CB depth, so Peanut and Graham really need to stay healthy. It's nice to have a guy like Trumaine McBride who has played a lot behind them.
I really hope Vasher can get his stuff together, get healthy, and come back next year and get back to his pro-bowl level of play.

It's costly because it's depth gone. But talk about a guy who's done next to nothing since his Pro Bowl appearance, Vasher rivals Tommie Harris, and is making my possession of a #31 jersey look incredibly foolish now.

I'm sorry he's hurt, but this forces the staff to do what they needed to. Start CG. Vasher will not start for the Bears next year. He'll be our nickle back as CG settles in as the starter. Remember, before his injuries in college CG was projected as the best corner in his draft class and a 1st round pick (ok - I have no idea if that's true, but I did hear it at a holiday inn express last night on CSN)

I have Ben Wallace, Kosuke Fukudome, and Nomar Garciaparra jerseys in my closet. Even the Devin Hester jersey isn't looking too hot now.

How about I buy you a very nice Vikings Adrian Peterson jersey?
