Its close IMO, but does the quarterback bias give it to Ryan or does he deserve it over Forte - who is 3rd in the NFL in Yards from Scrimmage?

What? No love for Chris Johnson or Joe Flacco ? I'd guess Ryan, actually, for the fact he's playing the more difficult position as a rookie.

I see Chris Johnson & Joe Flacco but couldn't justify a vote for them over Forte or Ryan.
Playing RB on the Bears just might be the most difficult position in the NFL (or so it has seemed)

Ha! Just realized your post was for NFC ROY not NFL ROY. That may explain why you didn't mention Johnson or Flacco. My bad.

QB gets the hype. He was the higher pick. And to tell you the truth has helped turn that team around. It would be difficult to see the media picking someone else, let alone the NFL.

homerrrrrrrr

I wonder if the sheer amount of carries and work he has gotten gets factored in to the equation.

I think if you consider that ATL added Michael Turner, you can't really put the improvement (wins) on Ryan. He's solid, but if you look at his individual performance he's an above average QB right now but still in the middle of the pack with an 88.3 rating.

Forte on the other hand has shown to be an elite back at this point (3rd in Yards from Scrimmage, 6th in Rushing yards) And while he's gotten a ton of touches, he still maintains a 4.0 YPC average which is impressive given the fact that he is our only serious threat on offense at this point.

The only way Forte will win this is if Ryan goes down with an injury and Forte rushes for 100+ every game from here on out and leads the Bears to the playoffs. It's almost a lock for Matt Ryan.

Ryan will win it. They are the #1 and #2 NFL ROYs IMO.

Ryan has played phenomenal for a rookie QB. He's already an above average/good QB, which is ridiculous for a rookie.

Yeah, QB is a harder position to step in and dominate, and Ryan has done pretty well. Who gives a crap though. A-Train was ROY! :D Forte may be better off not winning. Might give him some added motivation next season.

It'd be no shame to lose the NFC OROY award to Ryan. He's done an incredible job with the Falcons and deserves the award at the moment. If the Falcons take a nose dive to end the season and we finish strong then maybe you can give it to Forte. Regardless though, it doesn't change the fact that Forte is a beast and will have a lot of success here for a long time.
