2008 NFL Pro Bowl Rosters Announced

Press Release - The NFL announced the 2008 Pro Bowl rosters on Tuesday to RealGM and other media outlets.

The Jets have seven selections, the most in team history, while the Giants and Vikings each have six players representing them in Honolulu on February 8th.

I wanted to see Forte make it but other than him I can't really argue no one else making it (Robbie Gould or Brad Maynard perhaps?)

Forte is good enough, but the NFC is stocked at RB. I've got no complaints - wouldn't have one if Briggs didn't make it either.

Question - why don't they wait until the last 2 games have been played?

I'm happy that Thomas Jones got in.

It's great that he resurrected his career.

Agreed. Good for Thomas Jones - I don't think it's so much he resurrected his career as the Jets bought him a line and a QB and gave him a chance.

No problem with only one Bear on the list and I wouldn't have been upset if Briggs hadn't made it, either. Now comes the fun part where 2/3 of the pro-bowlers don't accept the Hawaii invite and replacements galore get named, making the title of "pro-bowler" a little less special.

I think it's moronic that they vote for the pro bowl before the season is over. Especially with a lot of close playoff races and important games left to play. The game isn't played for two months, why the hell do they vote now?

It's completely idiotic.

Anyway, Forte should have been made at least an alternate, but I can't find where the list of alternates is anywhere. Forte was 3rd in the NFC in yards from scrimmage, so I think a case could be made for his inclusion, but I have no problem with him being left out either. I think he was probably the right guy to leave out, but very close.
